April Club Q with Quick Quotes

Happy Wednesday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Quick Quotes.

I have a page to share created with pieces from the April Club Q Kits along with a bit of mixed media and chipboard tossed in for fun. The kit has these really fun alphas and coordinating chipboard circle frames for them. They were so cute, I decided to use them in a whimsical way for my title work.

"The Sweet Life"

I started by using a bit of white gesso, then added a bit of modeling paste using some stencils. I used a splatter stencil and also a speckles. After that dried, I rubbed some Seabrook PowderPuff Chalk Ink across the top of the speckles.

After that, I used a variety of coordinating mists colors randomly, then misted with a bit of water to let them mix together. Then I dabbed them a bit and used my heat gun to dry the paper.

The sentiment cut aparts in the kit are so cute, they were perfect for my page!  The boys were enjoying some mini donuts at the circus and what a mess. That provided the inspiration for the mixed media here... the speckles are like the bits of sugar that were all over the place.

I assembled my title, then inked the frames with a touch of Seabrook also. The outer edge of my patterned base paper was inked with Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Ink.

Enjoy the Beauty

Happy Saturday to you!  I was recently up on the Quick Quotes blog with a spring inspired project.

This card features papers from the Anchors Aweigh and Chiffon collections. I love how nicely the collections compliment each other!

"Enjoy The Beauty"

I was drawn to the blues and greens with the pop of peach/coral. I inked my paper edges with Seabrook and Aqua. A bit of Peach Tree was used for coloring my leaves and flourishes.

  • The flowers are cut from Chiffon 101, then misted in teal and gold to provide a touch of variation and shine.
  • The peach vines are cut from the Chiffon 105 script papers, inked lightly with Peach Tree PowderPuff Chalk Ink, then brushed with a mixture of White, Gold and Orange Shine Spray.
Quick Quotes Products:
Anchors Aweigh: 102, 104, 107
Chiffon: 100, 101, 105

Perking You Up with Quick Quotes

Happy Friday to you!

It was my turn yesterday over on the Quick Quotes blog to share a project. I created a fun card featuring the new Chiffon collection and some of our new 2016 PowderPuff Chalk Inks.

Perk You Up Card featuring Chiffon collection and 2016 PowderPuff Chalk Inks by Quick Quotes designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

The Chiffon collection has some very pretty soft mocha colors which reminded me of a Latte, so I used a few coffee accents here for fun.

I used Light Moss PowderPuff Chalk Ink to ink the edge of my green layer and stamped my sentiment with Milk Chocolate and the Mahogany for the steam. Seabrook was used to ink the sentiment layer.

Quick Quotes Products Used:
Chiffon 100, 101, 102, 103 and 104
2016 PowderPuff Chalk Inks: Seabrook, Light Moss, Milk Chocolate and Mahogany
Ribbon

Other Products Used:
Dies and Stamps by MFT
Diamond Stickles
Button, Enamel Heart and String

The Best Elf with Quick Quotes

Tuesday greetings to you! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and are excited about heading into the New Year.

I have a new Quick Quotes page to share with you featuring pieces from the December Club Q Kit. I don't know about you, but I try to keep up in documenting memories along the way, but I will be honest here... life sometimes just gets busy and things fall by the wayside. In the end, I try not to get bummed out that I don't have every single perfect photo. It's about telling our story, but yet still living in the moment.

Today's page features our Elf on the Shelf who is named Lucky. I didn't get nearly as many photos of his shenanigans this year as I had hoped. That's ok though, I have a couple of our favorites.

"Enjoy the Moment... Lucky, the Best Elf!"

I used a piece of black card stock for the foundation layer of the page, and started adding bits and pieces. I used the burlap ribbon to add some texture to my punched and layered border.

I cut my "Lucky" title script using my Silhouette Cameo, then added Seafoam PowderPuff Chalk Ink and then touched it here and there with some Sky Blue PowderPuff Chalk Ink as well.

You can see the "Enjoy the Moment" vellum quote is showcased with this beautiful chipboard frame that comes in the kit. I covered it first with Sky Blue, then stamped on it using Warm Sand.

A few enamel dots, flairs , buttons, stick pins and alphas from my personal stash helped finish up the page. The papers featured in the December Club Q Kits are from the Whistlin' Dixie Collection.

Quick Quotes Products Used:
December Club Q
49 Shades of Grey 103

"Santa" Flair by A Flair For Buttons

December Club Q 2013!

Happy Wednesday to you!  It's my day to share a project over on the Quick Quotes blog today.

My project today features pieces from the December Club Q kits along with a few other items from my personal stash. My page was inspired by this amazing sketch over at Sketchabilities. I really love the extra mixed media influences and thought it would be fun to mix things up a bit.

There are some really fun elements in the kits this month!  The pretty accordion flowers are die cut for you and some other pre-punched pieces of papers ready for you to embellish.

The accordion flower was assembled, and I added a little doily die cut on top of it and a pretty brad from one of my previous Club Q kits.  I used a stencil/mask and modeling paste to create my arrow, then rubbed on a bit of Inka Gold Metallic Rub for a pretty effect.

I love the sentiments sticker sheet that is included in the kit!  Perfect for my page!

My Santa Claus title work was cut using my Silhouette with the paper that came in the kit. Isn't that white lace trim just beautiful?  It's beyond stunning in person!!!

Sunday greetings to you!  I'm up over on the Quick Quotes blog today.

As you may know, we have been partnering with Kiwi Lane Designs this month and today my project features some of their templates along with the all new "Be Bold" collection, our new Red Hot PowderPuff Chalk Ink and a new quote from our Quotes Bundle.  Let's get started!

"Crazy Summer Fun"
The three arrows on the right, they are the chipboard photo corners turned sideways.

My first step was to select my pictures. I had these two pictures of our younger sone that I wanted to use, but I wasn't sure how they might crop best... Kiwi Lane Designs Photo Templates to the rescue! Due to the transparent durable design, these are perfect to lay over your photos to determine cropping size(s).

Next, I created a few layers for my page using the Storybrook Lane:
Simply trace and trim!

A little fussy cutting on the wave pattern paper was a fun addition!

I hope you've enjoyed a little peek into how easy the Kiwi Lane Designs templates can make your project planning and design.  I highly recommend the photo templates for anyone who likes to visually plan their photo layouts in advance.

Quick Quotes Ingredients:

Weekend greetings to you!

Todays post brings you my project for our Quick Quotes CHA Sneak feature for the all new "One Fine Day" collection.  The Design Team was graciously sent a Grand Calibur machine by Spellbinders and some fabulous dies to play with!   Pair that up with our CHA Sneaks and well, you just have a whole lot of fun and creativity happening!!!

My "One Fine Day" project:  Sly Guy

So, these photos of our little guy being as fully "two" as he can possibly be, still really just crack me up!  The drama, the pouting, then the instantly crazy sweet coy smiling cherub face at the end.  Yep, this is him for all of his 2nd year.  The way the sign framed in "Come Follow Me" was perfect for this day.  I've got a little love note tucked behind my main photo with the story of the day.

Confession time...  I have *ahem*, well, cough...  a bit of a collection of Spellbinders dies.  They are sort of like potato chips, you can't have just one!  You'll see a variety of them on my project from sprockets, to circles both small and grand as well as a butterfly and a border.

Designers Notes:
  • For the orange cardstock border, I used the Borderabilities die and ran it through two times.
  • The Sprightly Sprockets dies were used here to continue the circle theme but with a bit more variety.
  • This paper collection has really great strips, I used them to create the vertical ribbon strip cluster.
  • I used the Standard Circles Sm dies and folded them in half to create my petite circle banner.

Quick Quotes Products:
One Fine Day Collection
Mango Mai Tai, Limeade and Blue Hawaiian PowderPuff Chalk Inks
Frosted Flourishes
Jewels (Previous Club Q Kit)

Spellbinders Products:
Grand Calibur
Sprightly Sprockets
Fanciful Flight (Butterfly)

Happy Wednesday to you!!!  I have a fun Quick Quotes card to share with you today.

I am so excited to share with you a creation using our latest new line “Very Merry” from the December Club Q Kit! The line has gorgeous colors and wonderful holiday design elements.

I was so inspired by one of our top 3 challenge winners, Anniebee and her pretty wreath that I thought it would be perfect with one of the circle embellishments from the kit!
Some details for you:
Techniques Used:
  • I used the red circle embellishment as the basis for my wreath.
  • Using a couple of snowflake punches, I attached them on the top and the bottom of the circle with some 3-in-1 glue.
  • Attached some pearls included in the kit, then a few other coordinating gems.
  • Stamped my sentiment using our Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink.
Ingredients:
December Club Q Kit (Paper, Ribbon, Embellishments)
PowderPuff Chalk Inks: Amaretto, Midnight Confessions and Blue Hawaiian

Quick Quotes November Club Q!

Greetings to you my dear blogging friends!  Can you believe we are already at the mid point of November?

I've got fun project to share with you today featuring the fabulous November Club Q Kit from Quick Quotes!  It features this amazing line called "Copper Kettle".  A few words to describe it; timeless, classic, romantic, vintage and elegant.  You'll see what I mean, but when you mix clocks, musical patterns and stripes with this rich color palette, well it's just an absolute winner!

First, here is a glimpse of the November Club Q Page Kits:
The November Club Q - Canvas Kit

I took this fun photo of our son during a break at the apple orchard. There’s something so carefree and nostalgic about the look of it with the barn in the backdrop. When I saw the quote on this page, I felt it suited this moment to perfection! Time stands still for no one. My little boy is not so “little” and every one of these moments is truly a gift!
Techniques Used:

I decided to frame the quote out by tearing my other paper layers to compliment the shape and draw attention to it. A bit of distressing on that layer helped the feel as well.
You’ll notice a partial frame under my photo in black. One of the black cardstock laser cut frames from the kit was used and trimmed to fit.
The kit also contains an elegant acetate overlay with swirls on it from Creative Imaginations. I’ve used a bit of that to soften the roman numerals on the bottom of the page with some ribbon to help disguise the transition line. Of course some more of those beautiful Petaloo flowers coordinated perfectly with the vellum flower from the kit too. I used my Copic marker to deepen the color of the brad.

Don’t be afraid to get a little scrunchy with your vellum flower pieces!  I thought it added some fun charm to the look of them. I inked the pieces after crinkling them up a bit.

Ingredients:
Julie Je'taime 100 (leaves)
PowderPuff Chalk Inks: Amaretto
Flowers - Petaloo
Bling - Zva Creative
Ribbon – Michael’s
Rose Leaf, Frond and Butterfly Punches - Martha Stewart/EK Success
Deco Corner Chomper – We R Memory Keepers
Tiny Attacher – Tim Holtz by Ranger
Distress Tool – Tim Holtz by Ranger
Burnt Umber - Copic Marker
Other: Embroidery Floss

Celebrate Life!

Hello there!  Can you believe we are already into November and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching us?  I sure can't!

I wanted to share with you today a fun little card that I created using the Quick Quotes Club Q October kits.  They feature some stunning Teresa Collins papers!
I wanted to create a Thanksgiving/Fall themed card with the very elegant papers from the kit. To play a bit with the elegance of the papers, I include a bit of black tulle. I attached it with some staples, then melted the top ruffles just a bit with my heat embosser.
One of the small black laser cut frames was the perfect size to create my sentiment block. Once adhered to the paper from behind, I attached it to the base using foam dots.

Aren’t the patterns and swirls in this line just beautiful? I tore my itty bitty quote vellum, then inked the edges with Mango Mai Tai.

Ingredients:
- October Quick Quotes Club Q Kits
- Cherry Truffle for button
- Itty Bitty Quotes, “Sentiments”
- Powderpuff Chalk Inks: Mango Mai Tai, Midnight Confessions

Non-Kit Ingredients:
- Black Tulle
- Foam Dimensionals
- Epiphany Crafts Button Studio 20, 1 Button 20
- White Thread
- Tiny Attacher, Tim Holtz for Ranger

Thanks so much for being patient as I get back into my regular groove again.  We had a nice family vacation last week and things are finally going to get back to normal now!  Yayyy!!!

Have a super scrappity day!
