Beyond the Horizon with Quick Quotes

Happy Saturday to you!

I'm up over on the Quick Quotes blog today.  I created a card to share that I've used the pattern paper sentiment as part of my overall design. Do you ever do this?

In honor of Mother's Day I really wanted to create a card that would be suitable for Mom on her special day or serve another purpose as well.

I started with the Baggage Claim 100 paper, then cut the "Beyond the Horizon" sentiment from it. I added a few hearts and doily behind it, then finished with the banner backing for the "Love You" sticker in the Sheer Joy collection.

Quick Quotes Products:
PowderPuff Chalk Ink: Warm Sand, Sky Blue, Sunset
Baggage Claim 100
Baggage Claim 200
Baggage Claim 400
Baggage Claim 800
Sheer Joy Die Cut Stickers

Other Products:
Stick Pin and Gems by Want2Scrap
Banner, Border, Heart and Note Paper dies by MFT
Doily die by Memory Box

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity and special weekend!!!

Masculine Valentine with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today and I am so excited to share my project with you.

I thought it would be fun to play along with our challenge theme for this week "Sweethearts - (Add a Heart)" and created a masculine themed valentine card.

"XO" (A2 Sized Card)

I started with the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker cut from white card stock, then used the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped cut from kraft card stock for my next layer. Then, I used the A2 Frames Rectangular Classic and cut it from white card stock to alternate my color scheme.

Using the rectangle cut, I then cut the pretty intricate Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker by adhering the die to the center with some Washi Tape. You can see the result below.

For my center cluster, I cut one Celtic Heart from kraft card stock, then using a pencil, lightly outlined the shape on white card stock. I trimmed and backed the design with white card stock, then adhered with foam dimensional adhesive.

Next, the smaller of the Two of Hearts was cut from kraft card stock and adhered with dimensional adhesive as well. I thought it would be pretty to cut one of the delicate Arrows and tuck it into the top heart.

I added the ribbon and branches to the top, then finished by adding pearls to the corners and to the heart along with my XO sentiment. The sentiment was cut from a scrap and I trimmed it to fit.

Cheery Lynn Designs Dies Used:
Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker A2 Frame - DL293
Arrows (5 Dies) - B467
Celtic Heart - B144
Two of Hearts - DL128
Pine Branches - B146
A2 Frames Rectangular Classic (Set of 7) - CM5
A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped (Set of 7) - CM6
XOXOXO - B375

I hope you are inspired to play along with us for our new challenge - Sweethearts! You could win a $20 gift certificate to our online store just for playing along!

Vacation Mini Album with Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap

Friday greetings to you!  I have a project to share with you today featuring Quick Quotes Baggage Claim collection and a Want2Scrap Lattice Mini Album.

Last month Quick Quotes partnered with our friends at Want2Scrap. I decided to use my album to showcase our photos from our Mount Rushmore trip this summer.

To start, I coated each page with white gesso, then used our PowderPuff Chalk Inks to color them.

The Mardi Gras Border Bling was a fun accent to my quote here.

My first pages, I used some scraps from June Club Q here.

I maintained the same photo mats and theme through the album to create harmony.

A few gems adds just the right extra touch...

This design is very clean and simple and lets the photos tell the story.

I cropped a photo of the main entrance monument here and used it along with a date stamp.

Vintage Noel Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I have a holiday themed card to share with you today created in a more neutral color scheme. The new release has beautiful holiday sentiments and this card features the all new "Noel" die.

"Noel" (A2 size card)

I used one of the Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stackers as part of my base. On top of this, I've adhered two cuts of the Tree Blowing In The Wind and adhered them on the horizontal in position.

The Oval Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker is layered on top of it using Foam Adhesive for dimension.  You'll see that the tree peeks out and creates a framed shape. Noel is cut and adhered next.

To accent the sentiment, I've used our Tea Roses in Medium and Small. Cut a Holly Flourish in neutral paper, then cut it apart to tuck it in among my florals.

I've misted my flowers with gold shimmer mist. The Lace Corner Deco 2 was cut twice and adhered on the top ad bottom, then accented with pearl gems in a neutral color.

Another image to show texture:

Many Thanks with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I thought it would be fun to create something with a nice burst of color and to play along with this weeks new challenge "Creative Corners".

"Many Thanks" (A2 size card)

I used my Fancy Corner Cuts 4 on the base layer of my card.  Next you'll see the Polynesian Sails Oval. I traced around the outer oval to create my backer layer, then attached it with some Glossy Accents.

Recently I received the Wings (Steampunk Series) and I've been really wanting to use them. I took them out and cut the larger of the set from a ledger style simple paper. The flair that I had in mind to use wasn't quite the size I wanted, so I used an XM Scalloped Circle as an additional layer.

The base layer and my oval layers are all attached with foam dimensional adhesive to give a bit of texture and interest.  I added some simple bling accents along with a petite bow to finish the card.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Fancy Corner Cuts 4 - B431
Polynesian Sails Oval - DL153
Wings (Steampunk Series) - B359
Ship's Compass - B395
XM Scalloped Circle - XM5

Other Products:
Lemonade Stand pattern papers by BoBunny
Gems by Want2Scrap
Ribbon by Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes)
Other:  Flair

Please join us in our "Creative Corners" Challenge this week!  The prize is a yummy $20 gift certificate to the online Cheery Lynn Designs store.  You can't win if you don't play though!!!

As always, thanks for taking the time to pop on over to my blog today.  Have a super scrappity day!

Happy Easter with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to share a project over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog today.

I've created an Easter themed card this week. It's coming up faster than you realize, especially when you stop into your local department stores.  Ha! At any rate, I was inspired to create an Easter themed project this week.

"Happy Easter" (Step Card)

Some details...

I started my design with the Spring Basket 2, then changed my mind.  I had it cut out with that cute bunny and I then knew I wanted the sweet bunny to be a part of the design. I've added a touch of cheese cloth here and tucked in some barbed wire behind the layer.

For the tail, I added a bit of a Q-Tip with some Glossy Accents.  Accents were colored in with my Copics.

I love that the Step Card die set has every piece included in the set!

If you love the look of an elegant card, consider giving the Step Card die set a try. It really makes creating a beautiful and unique card design an easy task.

Merry and Bright with Cheery Lynn Designs!

Happy Monday, it's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs!  How was your weekend?  Did you get much shopping, crafting or baking done?  As you can see by my photo's below it was really snowing here in Minnesota.

I took a bit of time to do some crafting of course.  I've got a card to share today inspired by our challenge this week, "Red and Green".

"Merry and Bright" (A2 sized card)

I started with the Kiwi Spirit Doily and layered it with the Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker that I turned vertically.  Next you'll see the Sophie's Heart Mini peeking out.  On top of it is the smallest Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker in a horizontal position that I attached with foam dots, then topped with the Sentiment Frame 1.

Tags 4 were used to tuck under my sentiment frame for an added fun touch.  I cut the holly leaves apart from my Mega Holly Flourish and tucked them into my border, then added a little bling for the berries.

Stepping Toward Christmas with Cheery Lynn Designs

Monday greetings to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today.

I've got a step card to share with you today with a bit of an unconventional holiday color scheme.  This card was created with our Step Card and Snowflakes dies and several of our newer release dies as well.

The Step Card die made quick work of creating the base for my card. I honestly just love this die!  Once I had my base and layers created, I inked and then stitched them down for a little added interest and texture.

I chose the Shuttered Window with Flower Box and decided to layer the Birch Tree die behind it.  I did cut the tree twice, then angled the top branches off to the side for this effect.  I modified my Bird a bit by cutting the back wing and angling it a bit, then I inked and added a coat of Glossy Accents.

Thankful with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to share a project over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog today.

Did you have a moment to see the latest challenge yet?  It's "Die Cut Flowers" and I am all about making my own flowers, in fact it's one of my favorite things to do!  I was so inspired I decided to play along with our theme for this post. I chose the pretty fall papers from the Autumn Song collection by BoBunny.

"Thankful" (5.5" x 5.5" card)

To create my card, I used the largest French Flair Scalloped for the base, then I layered a French Flair Classic on top. The Fall Leaf Doily with Angel Wings is the anchor focal point of the card. The size worked so nicely for my sentiment sticker. I added a bit of diamond stickles to my design for interest.

The larger orange flower to the left I used the Cheery Blossom for my base and the Miniature Rose as the center.  The pattern paper used was chevron and I found it interesting to layer.  The Lace Corner Deco I cut apart and used on the top and the bottom of my card along with some coordinating pearls for interest.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
French Flair Scalloped - XL13
French Flair Classic - L12
Fall Leaf Doily with Angel Wings - DL249

September Club Q!

Happy Thursday crafty friends!

Today I have a project featuring the September Club Q from Quick Quotes to share with you. Have you seen the kits this month?  Check this out:

Option A:  Page Layouts
Option B:  Altered Projects
Option D:  Layouts + Altered Projects

I really love the elegant feel of these kits!

*****

I took papers and pieces from my Layouts Kits and created this page:

To start, I used a piece of black cardstock and our Coconut PowderPuff Chalk Inks and stamped a few grungy coffee ring stains and cheesecloth texture.  I also did a second stamp on the right bottom corner where it's a little more faint.  I love the impact that stamping with the Coconut made here.

I did a bit of cutwork in the pattern of the papers and used that as my design's foundation along with the coffee marks.  The large doily is the Sophia's Heart Doily and anchors my framed photo.

To add emphasis, I pierced in a few circular patterns in the background also.  My chipboard frame was inked in Coal Miner and then I sprayed it with Goosebumps shimmer texture spray to give it a little texture.

I loved the little atom shape floral chipboards and treated mine to a little topping of Gesso, then the Lemonade PowderPuff Chalk Ink and a touch of Coal Miner for around the scallops.  To emphasize the delicate feel I layered a Sophie's Heart mini doily by Cheery Lynn Designs underneath.  I also tucked in the Sophia's Heart Border above the larger grey banner.

A bit of flourish bling from Want2Scrap and a few sequins and flair round out the page.  I hope you give the Coconut Ink a try and of course - go check out Club Q!

Ingredients:
PowderPuff Chalk Ink:  Midnight Confession, Lemonade, Coal Miner and Coconut White

Other:  Stamps by BoBunny, Sequins, Flair, Gesso, Flourish by Want2Scrap, Cheesecloth, Enamel Dots and sentiment by Heidi Swapp.  Sophie's Heart Mini Doily, Sophia's Heart Doily and Sophia's Heart Border dies by Cheery Lynn Designs.

Place In Time - August Calendar

Happy Monday crafty peeps!

It's my day to host the blog over at ScrapTownLady today. I have the Graphic 45 "Place In Time" collection's August calendar to share with you. The French Country collection was also mixed in as well.

That's the beauty of Graphic 45, the colors and collections blend nicely together and you can really use them interchangeably.

"August 2013"

I've used a variety of pretty dies to create the August calendar:
I thought it would be fun to re-use a tag from their packaging on here too.

The Trellis, Hummingbird and Sunflower are Cheery Lynn Designs:

When I think of the dog days of summer, they are also the last chance to get out and enjoy the nice weather.  I loved the sentiment strip "In the Good Old Summertime...", so I used it as part of my anchor on the bottom of the page.  Don't you just love how the Fiona's Magic Mirror by Cheery Lynn Designs perfectly mats to the mini calendar?

If you're wondering how I get the numbers on the calendar, I created a Microsoft Word template and do it there, then I tape my calendar on top of it, and print right on the mini calendar.  I do make sure to line it up perfectly by looking through a window with the calendar layered on top.

If you would like a copy of it, I am happy to share it with you.  You can customize the colors to coordinate nicely with your calendar too.
