Steam Punk Fun!

Happy Friday to you!

I'm delighted to share my project with you today!  This features several of my favorite things all together at once!  Epiphany Crafts challenged us to showcase the Round 25 Bubble Cap on a layout in a bit of a different way.  This is my finale post as a Designer for Epiphany Crafts and I wanted my project to be extra special!

"Remember This"
12x12 page
This page features the all new Tin Type line from Quick Quotes!
(Love the Steam Punk vibe!)

One of my 3 Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Bubble Caps anchors the bird.

The starting inspiration for this design was the Core'dinations with the black and teal circles.  The size of the circles coordinated perfectly with the bubble caps!  I then used my PowderPuff Chalk Inks in Baja Blue, Lemonade, Biscotti and some water to color the Chipboard Laser Diecut bird and branch.  A bit of glitter Modge Podge was added over the top.

To soften the feel of the rich colors, I used the Mega Sunflower Doily die (7.5" x 7.5") from Cherry Lynn Designs.  To create my framed sentiment I also used their Celtic Heart die (3" x 2 5/8") over one of the Quick Quotes Alphabet Sentiments.  I wanted to add some more color and used the Vintage Settings from Epiphany with a Round 14 bubble cap.

I intertwined some raffia, punched butterflies and leaves, flowers and vine and bling to frame in my photo.  The acetate accents and tickets added a little more pop of interest and color.

A Special Ornament!

Wednesday crafty greetings to you!

I’m excited to bring to you a fun little project today that I created with my December Quick Quotes Club Q kit.

I thought it would be fun to mix up my projects a bit and create an ornament for the tree! Every year I create a few ornaments that are special to me for our tree. This is my Quick Quotes ornament for 2011 featuring my two sweet little guys. : )
To create this ornament I used the Tim Holtz Accordion Flower die by Sizzix. I created two and sandwiched them together. The cute little gingerbread men are stamps by A. Jillian Vance Design and represent my kids. I colored them with my Copics.

I added a layer on either side of a punched snowflake. Using my Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Bubble Caps and Metal Charms were a perfect accent and provided a wonderful way to hang the ornament!

I punched holes through the center of the snowflakes so my hanger ribbon could be threaded.
Here is the flip side. I just love that sweet gingerbread man! A little Diamond Stickles on top of my snowflake and voila~!

A sandwich view.

Ingredients:
December Club Q Kit– Quick Quotes
PowderPuff Chalk Ink; “Bloody Mary” – Quick Quotes

Thanks for spending a moment with me here today!  Have yourself a super scrappity day as we get ready to ring in 2012!!!

Celebrate Life!

Hello there!  Can you believe we are already into November and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching us?  I sure can't!

I wanted to share with you today a fun little card that I created using the Quick Quotes Club Q October kits.  They feature some stunning Teresa Collins papers!
I wanted to create a Thanksgiving/Fall themed card with the very elegant papers from the kit. To play a bit with the elegance of the papers, I include a bit of black tulle. I attached it with some staples, then melted the top ruffles just a bit with my heat embosser.
One of the small black laser cut frames was the perfect size to create my sentiment block. Once adhered to the paper from behind, I attached it to the base using foam dots.

Aren’t the patterns and swirls in this line just beautiful? I tore my itty bitty quote vellum, then inked the edges with Mango Mai Tai.

Ingredients:
- October Quick Quotes Club Q Kits
- Cherry Truffle for button
- Itty Bitty Quotes, “Sentiments”
- Powderpuff Chalk Inks: Mango Mai Tai, Midnight Confessions

Non-Kit Ingredients:
- Black Tulle
- Foam Dimensionals
- Epiphany Crafts Button Studio 20, 1 Button 20
- White Thread
- Tiny Attacher, Tim Holtz for Ranger

Thanks so much for being patient as I get back into my regular groove again.  We had a nice family vacation last week and things are finally going to get back to normal now!  Yayyy!!!

Have a super scrappity day!

Butterfly Blog Linky Party & MME Card!!!

Greetings to all my butterfly loving blog hopping friends!!!

Spring is just around the corner and my very sweet friend Eva had a fabulous idea for a blog hop!  When she shared it with me I just couldn't help but say YES!!!

On this hop there are actually also prizes to be won, so be sure you start at Eva's blog to get all of the sweet details!

I decided to play along with the My Mind's Eye Challenge 21 for this card.  I have so many beautiful MME papers sitting in my scrap space it is a shame not to enjoy them!  My idea was to create a masculine card and to include butterflies on it, while still trying to keep a manly appeal.  Was I successful?
Here are some details
I just *had* to use the packaging from the trims that come with this glorious Lost 'N Found collection!!!

Everything on this card is My Mind's Eye except for a bit of vintage lace, 1 Epiphany flower button that was created with MME papers, white and blue thread and florist wire for my large butterfly.

This card is going to my sweet hubby.  We have our challenges and it's a busy life raising two toddler boys but he can make me laugh until tears come to my eyes!  There's a joy in that that you can't easily put to words, but this sentiment was perfect for what I needed to say.

Well, I hope you are enjoying "Springing Ahead" with Daylight Savings Time today!  Thank you so much for popping on over and have a Super Scrappity weekend!!!

Guest Designer Announcement!

Greetings!  I am so excited to write this post!

This month I played along with the sketch contest over at Back Porch Memories.  I just found out that my entry won the Guest Design spot for December!  I'm so flattered and excited!

For this project, I used 'Life Is Good' by Echo Park.  The sketch is an exclusive to BPM created by Becky Fleck (see below).

Here are some details, I used my Epiphany flower button tool on here, Maya Road heart pins, some crinkle ribbon, Tim Holtz rilmstrip ribbon, Martha Stewart butterfly punches, etc.  I took the sticker trim and cut it apart to creat the ric-rak feel trim on here.

A side note on the photo's, there was an entire series of these pics that I snapped and they were just too funny! This is my cousin's daughter and she is just a riot.  Thank you to Kris for giving me permission to scrap these!

Here's the funky sketch that my layout is based on!
I'm so honored and excited to have been selected as the Guest Designer for December at Back Porch Memories!  I can't wait to see what Paula is putting together for December!  Stop on over and check it out!

Have a super scrappity day!!!
