Being Bold on a Smaller Scale

Wednesday greetings crafty peeps!  I'm up over at Quick Quotes to host the blog today.

During the month of April we are featuring our all new 6x6 Paper Pads. We wanted to share with you how very versatile they are! Check out what I created here with the bright and cheerful "Be Bold" collection.  Each of the pads comes with pages of quotes, and journaling spots as well as coordinating solid cardstock. What a fabulous concept!

I started with a sheet of the Be Bold 700. This is a beautifully color coordinated paper from the 12x12 line. All of the other pieces here are from the 6x6 Paper Pad, and I added one of the coordinating Chipboard Stickers as well.

To start, I took the sentiment pages and cut them apart. I selected my favorites and started layering them under my matted photo. I used my Kiwi Lane Sunnybrook Lane 3B template to layer a bit and allow a pocket to tuck my floral tag into.

I had a few colorful coordinating items sitting near my desk, so I tossed those into the mix as well. (The little green polka dot bag, sequin arrow, flair, enamel dots and 2013 sticker).

These positive themed sentiments were perfect for my page. We've recently had a bit of a speed bump with our son's health and I wanted to document his hospital stay in a positive light. The featured photo is of him waving goodbye to the hospital. I loved the "Live one fabulous day at a time" quote for this page.

Sometimes we need a reminder that life is good and that we need to be grateful for things like a sweet sunny smile or our health. The everyday is definitely worth celebration!

Ingredients List:
PowderPuff Chalk Inks in Lemonade and Blue Hawaiian
Kiwi Lane - Sunnybrook Lane 3B

Other Ingredients:  Green Polka Dot Bag - Paper Issues, Sequin Arrow - Heidi Swapp, Enamel Dots - MME, 2013 Tab Sticker - SRM Stickers, Flair - AC.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today.  We hope you get inspired to pick up a 6x6 Paper Pad or two!  You can find them over at the Quick Quotes Store or at Scrapbook.com.

Have a super scrappity day!

Being Bold with Kiwi Lane Designs

Sunday greetings to you!  I'm up over on the Quick Quotes blog today.

As you may know, we have been partnering with Kiwi Lane Designs this month and today my project features some of their templates along with the all new "Be Bold" collection, our new Red Hot PowderPuff Chalk Ink and a new quote from our Quotes Bundle.  Let's get started!

"Crazy Summer Fun"
The three arrows on the right, they are the chipboard photo corners turned sideways.

My first step was to select my pictures. I had these two pictures of our younger sone that I wanted to use, but I wasn't sure how they might crop best... Kiwi Lane Designs Photo Templates to the rescue! Due to the transparent durable design, these are perfect to lay over your photos to determine cropping size(s).

Next, I created a few layers for my page using the Storybrook Lane:
Simply trace and trim!

A little fussy cutting on the wave pattern paper was a fun addition!

I hope you've enjoyed a little peek into how easy the Kiwi Lane Designs templates can make your project planning and design.  I highly recommend the photo templates for anyone who likes to visually plan their photo layouts in advance.

Quick Quotes Ingredients:

March Club Q!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends!  I'm so excited today to be up on the Quick Quotes blog to share a March Club Q project today. It features the new Dusty Road collection, our new Coconut, Coal Miner and Plum Crazy PowderPuff Chalk Inks and our new Quotes Bundles.

I've also used Kiwi Lane Designs Templates here as well.  We are partnering with Kiwi Lane Designs this month and you will see more fabulous designs from our team in the coming weeks.

Today's project that I get to share with you has a very shabby chic vibe to it and I just had a great time putting it all together!  I used the March Club Q "B" Altered kit for this project.

Coal Miner was used to color the Chipboard Key.

Some details...

To begin, I used our Coconut PowderPuff Chalk Ink on the chipboard frame.
Tip:  Use an emory board to sand down the nubs left after removing die cuts.

Next I inked the die cut border with Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Ink.
I left some variation in the coloring to enhance the shabby feel.

I decided to stitch down the die cut frame onto the chipboard.  Once that was completed, I worked on filling in each of the windows. The "Love is Patient, Love is Kind..." quote is from our Quotes Bundle and was my starting point. The "Take Time to Do Something Silly" is also from the Quotes Bundle as well.  I added some papers from our coordinating 6x6 paper pad for the collection.

You will see the die cut chipboard buttons here that I colored using Baja Blue, Coconut and Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Inks.  I added Crackle Accents on the scalloped button, Diamond Stickles on the top button and Glossy Accents on the bottom floral button.

The die cut branches and flourishes were colored with Coconut and dry brushed with Baja Blue to give the soft feel.  I also did the same on the flourish die cut as well.  I really love to use a dry brush with the Chalk Inks for just a hint of artistic touch.

I've used the Kiwi Lane Tiny Wildflower Template #1 and layered for interest.

Ingredients Used:
March Club Q Kit B (Chipboard Frame, Die Cuts, Blue Ribbon and White Pearls)
PowderPuff Chalk Ink:  Biscotti and Baja Blue
Tiny Wildflower Template #1 - Kiwi Lane Designs
Grey Bling Pin - Jenni Bowlin
Grey Triple Ball Pin - Maya Road
