Neapolitan Collection by Pretty Little Studio

Happy Friday crafty friends!

I've got a Pretty Little Studio project to share with you today that I created featuring the all new Neapolitan collection. When I looked at the all of the fun design elements in the collection, one of my favorites are the Strawberry Arrows and I knew I wanted to use those!

I thought it would be fun to accent my son's rosy cheeks in this photo (and of course his silly face!) with a bit of pink. When we ask him what his favorite color is, he says "every color in the world!", so the sherbet swirl was the perfect choice for the background pattern here.

A little extra texture was added by layering my arrows and garland circles. What a fun collection!!!

Club Q Fun!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends!

It's my day to share a project over on the Quick Quotes blog. Today I have a page to share with you that I created using pieces from the May Club Q - Page Layouts Kit.  The colors in these kits are so vibrant and totally fun!

The ticket shapes and sentiments were perfect for these photos that I took of our youngest one silly morning.  He was hamming it up for the camera and I thought it would be great to do a collage of his many faces. It's a nice way to tell a silly story sometimes with either a photo strip or a collage.

"4's so Fun!"

I embossed one of my layers and sanded the number 4 for focus.

Tips:
  1. Do you like the three little chevron arrows?  I took a scrap piece of my chevron pattern paper that was about 1" wide and trimmed three of them.  Don't get too fussy about cutting them perfectly, part of the charm is that they are handmade.
  2. The "fishtail" layers were all hand cut to a shallow inverted point as well.
  3. I used our Coconut white PowderPuff Chalk Ink around the darker blue "fishtail" layer and the base background blue card stock.
  4. The slight touch of Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Ink on my mini card really helps the shape pop.
The ticket shapes, scalloped red border and pretty photo corner are just some of the die cuts included in the kit.  They make designing your pages so quick and easy!

Ingredients Used:
May Club Q Kit - Quick Quotes
PowderPuff Chalk Ink:  Red Hot, Coal Miner, Baja Blue, Coconut

Other Ingredients:
Tin Pin - October Afternoon, Red Arrow and Blue Fishtail by K and Company (Smash Line), Enamel Dots - MME, Number Collage Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug, Mini Alpha - MLS, Tab Punch  - Stampin Up,  Sizzix Big Shot, Sewing Machine and Thread.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity day!!!

I Love This Fabulous Cool Kid!

Good morning to you and thank goodness it's Friday!  How excited are you for the weekend?

I've got a project to share with you today featuring some more Moxxie goodness!  I've used our "Chillin' Out" collection for this bright and fun page.  I have so many action photos of the boys that it felt perfect for just those images.

This line has lots of fun geometric shapes, stars and circles, so it worked nicely to add banners and arrows into the mix.

To create the "I" embellishment, I used one of the circles and punched it out using a circle punch, added a flair on top and an enamel dot on top of it again.  The two smaller tails are one Chic Tag that I cut apart and layered.  The 1 is a chipboard flag by Studio Calico from my stash.

It was fun putting this page together and having a little creative time with the titlework.  I've mixed several elements including rub-ons from the collection and of course the fabulous stickers too!  The aqua die cut helps the "Fun" really pop.

Ingredients:
Chillin Out - Moxxie (Papers, Stickers and Rub-On's)
Mini Diecut Cardstock, Tropical - Moxxie
Chic Tags
Flair and Thickers- AC
Epipany Crafts Star 25
Button
Enamel Dots, MME
Wood Bubble, Chipboard "1" - Studio Calico
Star Punches
Arrow - K and Co. Smash accessories

Thanks so much for popping on over to visit!  I hope you get a chance to relax this weekend and "Chill Out" yourself!

Potluck Inspiration!

Monday Greetings to you!

I have a project to share that I like to affectionately call "Potluck Inspiration".  So, the recipe for this is...  take several leftover items that share common tone qualities.  Mix it up and layer them all together in bits and pieces using a bit of Inspiration that has captured your eye or heart.

My project is a combination of five unrelated lines from Moxxie;  "Road to Recovery", "At The Beach","Wee Ones", "Hockey" and the "Mini Diecut Cardstock - Tropical".

The starting point for my project today is an absolutely amazing inspiration of a page by Cathy Harper.

This is Cathy's awesome page..  just check this out:

This is my creation:

Some details... Chevron and Cloud cut from "Wee Ones" collection.

I loved how the flair worked with my Chic Tag here!
The circle tab under the left photo is the double circles sticker border from "At the Beach".

This was a really fun project, I love how well the "Road to Recovery" line coordinated with the grey colors in the "Wee Ones" collection.  The aqua and blue tones really played nicely with each other.  I played on the orange a bit and thought it would be interesting to pop the colorful flourish on top for an unexpected color.

Did you notice that my background paper is from our Hockey line?  Yep, it's hockey sticks.  I tried to mix it up so it looks more like X's and O's on here.  ; )

Ingredients:
Pattern Papers, Die Cuts and Stickers - Moxxie
Flair - Fancy Pants
Enamel Dots - MME
Mini Stickers - Amy Tangerine for AC
Memory Box Die
Chipboard Arrow - Heidi Swapp
Circle Tag - Chic Tags
PowderPuff Chalk Ink - Coal Miner

Thank you so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity day!

Being Bold with Kiwi Lane Designs

Sunday greetings to you!  I'm up over on the Quick Quotes blog today.

As you may know, we have been partnering with Kiwi Lane Designs this month and today my project features some of their templates along with the all new "Be Bold" collection, our new Red Hot PowderPuff Chalk Ink and a new quote from our Quotes Bundle.  Let's get started!

"Crazy Summer Fun"
The three arrows on the right, they are the chipboard photo corners turned sideways.

My first step was to select my pictures. I had these two pictures of our younger sone that I wanted to use, but I wasn't sure how they might crop best... Kiwi Lane Designs Photo Templates to the rescue! Due to the transparent durable design, these are perfect to lay over your photos to determine cropping size(s).

Next, I created a few layers for my page using the Storybrook Lane:
Simply trace and trim!

A little fussy cutting on the wave pattern paper was a fun addition!

I hope you've enjoyed a little peek into how easy the Kiwi Lane Designs templates can make your project planning and design.  I highly recommend the photo templates for anyone who likes to visually plan their photo layouts in advance.
