Happy Saturday to you!  I was recently up on the Quick Quotes blog with a spring inspired project.

This card features papers from the Anchors Aweigh and Chiffon collections. I love how nicely the collections compliment each other!

"Enjoy The Beauty"

I was drawn to the blues and greens with the pop of peach/coral. I inked my paper edges with Seabrook and Aqua. A bit of Peach Tree was used for coloring my leaves and flourishes.

• The flowers are cut from Chiffon 101, then misted in teal and gold to provide a touch of variation and shine. 
• The peach vines are cut from the Chiffon 105 script papers, inked lightly with Peach Tree PowderPuff Chalk Ink, then brushed with a mixture of White, Gold and Orange Shine Spray.

Heartfelt Creations Semifinalist News!

Greetings and happy Thursday to you!

I am beyond thrilled to share with you that I have made the 2016 Semifinalists for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team! This is such an exciting thing, they have the most beautiful papers, stamps and dies and I have been in love with their products for several years.

The Heartfelt Creations Design Team Call has two steps. I have made the first one and next I will create two more projects using product that they sent out to the finalists.

There is also a vote process, so I would like to ask if you have the time that you check out all of the semi-finalists blogs and then vote. You can vote by CLICKING HERE. Voting ends on March 25th. If I inspire you, I hope that you will include me (Rhonda Van Ginkel) in your vote.

I've cut the roses here from vellum, stamped with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Inked from the back using PowderPuff Chalk Inks. I loved this technique that Heartfelt Creations shared and what a soft and pretty flower it makes.

Moments With You (Mini Album)

Using the beautiful pre-printed frames for this and the pages here were cut using the Grand Scalloped Square dies by Spellbinders. I've layered a few of these frame on top of one another and just had fun putting the mini together.

Winter in MN featuring SEI's Always Yours

Hi there and happy Thursday to you!  I was recently up over on the SEI blog with a project featuring the newer "Always Yours" collection and showing a bit of its versatility.

We live in Minnesota where the winter mornings are brisk and sometimes when the weather is just right you can catch some spectacular sunrises. I quickly snapped this photo with my phone the other morning because there was something so pretty about the way the light filtered though the haze. I knew I wanted to scrap it.

I printed the photo in a 2.5x3.5 size, then again in a full 4x6 and cropped both photos to remove the borders, then placed the smaller photo on top with some dimensional adhesive.

After finding the beautiful cream and grey colors in this collection, I searched for a nice variety to create a monochromatic design. You will see that I used the additional kit items here such as the ribbon, glitter chipboard die cuts and stickers along with the pearls.

The "Winter" sentiment was cut using my Silhouette Cameo from the beautiful silver foil paper in the collection to coordinate to my photo mat. All of the papers in this collection have such a beautiful finish to them, it is a wonderfully elegant line!

C'est Magnifique Guest Designer Projects

Saturday greetings to you!  I'm excited to host the blog over at C'est Magnifique today as a Guest Designer in August.  I have my second set of projects to share with the C'est Magnifique August 2015 Card Kit.

"Thank You" (5.25" x 8.50" Tag)

For my first project I wanted to create a tag or a card to fit the 5.75"x8.75" Off-White Envelope that comes with the kit. You get three.  The design here includes a small open edge pocket on the bottom that you could tuck a gift card into - perfect for thanking that new teacher for your child.

I've used the pretty coordinating "Thank You" sentiment stamp here with some fussy cut flowers and bird from the pattern papers. A few layers of delicate doily die cuts provided the perfect perching spot for my bird. The pink and orange flower in the left corner was created using white cardstock, then colored to coordinate with the color scheme using watercolor pencils.

I liked the idea that this can be put up on a bulletin board on display for a teacher's room as a reminder of our appreciation.

"Sent with Love" (A2 size card)

One of the really fun items in this kit is the sentiment ribbon, it's sweet and versatile. My roll is red on white, so I took some Antique Linen chalk ink and tinted to match my cream card stock. This fits the 4.375"x5.75" Cream Envelope provided in the kit.

I love the elegant finish of the papers and used the bright vibrant floral paper here for the floral die cut and let it be the focal point with the sentiment.

"Love and Wishes" (A2 sized card)

For my final project I chose to combine the elegant finish paper with a kraft card stock base that I first spritzed with water, then added a bit of Colorburst in Orange, Lemon Yellow and Crimson. It coordinated so nicely in combination with the papers in this kit!

The butterflies are so gorgeous, I had to cut a few of them out. The sentiment here is another from the kit. So so versatile! A few cattails and reeds in plain kraft paper provided a bit of scenery. You can also see how the pattern papers also make gorgeous florals too.

DCWV Mariposa Mini Book

Friday greetings to you!

I have a mini book project to share with you today that I've created for DCWV as a guest designer.

This is their Mariposa Mini Book and I just fell in love with the pretty design. There are many pages in the book and I chose to tear out a few to cut embellishments from.

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Scrappity Dappity Doo!. I do receive financial compensation and products from DCWV to develop certain blog posts, but all of the ideas and opinions noted are my own.

I decorated the spine with a few ribbons and metal embellishments from Blue Moon Beads.

The left page includes a page from that book that I tore out, then trimmed to use for my mat. A doily and tags finish the pockets on the right page. The black tab on top is an element included in the kit made of washi. 

For the design, I kept it fairly simple and am repeating a single photo mat to one side, allowing the pretty designs of the papers and book elements to shine.

I love this butterfly die cut.  The black frame behind worked so nicely to add interest.

Love the vellum pattern page and the soft texture it adds!

For these embellishments, I adhere the bottom only so the photo can be slipped in.

I used the craft and white mat stack and it worked so nicely against the red page.

This mini book is so pretty in person. The papers are gorgeous and the extra interior pockets are so nice to tuck all of your photos, notes and memorabilia into.  If you haven't given a mini album a try, this is the perfect way to jump in!
