Place In Time - August Calendar

Happy Monday crafty peeps!

It's my day to host the blog over at ScrapTownLady today. I have the Graphic 45 "Place In Time" collection's August calendar to share with you. The French Country collection was also mixed in as well.

That's the beauty of Graphic 45, the colors and collections blend nicely together and you can really use them interchangeably.

"August 2013"

I've used a variety of pretty dies to create the August calendar:
I thought it would be fun to re-use a tag from their packaging on here too.

The Trellis, Hummingbird and Sunflower are Cheery Lynn Designs:

When I think of the dog days of summer, they are also the last chance to get out and enjoy the nice weather.  I loved the sentiment strip "In the Good Old Summertime...", so I used it as part of my anchor on the bottom of the page.  Don't you just love how the Fiona's Magic Mirror by Cheery Lynn Designs perfectly mats to the mini calendar?

If you're wondering how I get the numbers on the calendar, I created a Microsoft Word template and do it there, then I tape my calendar on top of it, and print right on the mini calendar.  I do make sure to line it up perfectly by looking through a window with the calendar layered on top.

If you would like a copy of it, I am happy to share it with you.  You can customize the colors to coordinate nicely with your calendar too.

A Little French Country!

Happy Saturday to you!

It's my day over at the ScrapTown Lady blog today.  I'm super excited to share a page that I created with Graphic 45's beautiful French Country collection.

I love the beautiful colors in this lovely collection and really thought they accented a masculine page so nicely. The coordinating embellishments really are extraordinary!

To add some texture and interest I've used a few Cheery Lynn Designs dies on the page and a touch of cheesecloth behind my square doily. The Princess Tree was cut a few times, then I cut it apart and layered it and added a bit of Diamond Stickles.

This was my favorite "accidental embellishment" that I built from the elements.  I just love how it turned out.  What are you creating this weekend?

Masculine Inspiration with Place in Time!

Happy Monday to you!

Today I'm hosting over at ScrapTownLady to share a card that I created using the scraps left over from my Graphic 45 - Place In Time Calendar page for July. If you haven't had a chance to see that and want to, click here.

Do you get inspired by a certain element(s) of a collection? I know I sure do and when I find a special piece or two I sometimes save those for either cards or another project. The inspiration for this card came from the vintage ballplayer and the Home Run tag. I thought it would be so much fun to use this collection to create a masculine card.

Some details:

Papers for the chevron border are from the Graphic 45 collection, French Country. I elevated my oval frame with some foam dots for dimension. The glassine bag softens the feel and a touch of lace trim is a nice contrast with the stars and stripes. I added a touch of Glossy Accents to my small blue star to vary the hues a bit.

The other product that inspired me for this is the BluePrints 2 Die-Namics Set by My Favorite Things.  Check this out:

I used the base rectangle to cut my card base, the oval to nest my sentiment and tag into. The tag ended strip I used for my embellishment in the upper left corner of the card. What a fun concept!  The details here are fabulous, check out those decorative cut marks.

July Place in Time with ScrapTownLady

Happy Saturday crafty friends!  (Moxxie Hoppers - the hop post is here.)

It's my day to post over at the ScrapTownLady blog and for today it's all about Place in Time for July.  All of you Graphic 45 fans know exactly what I'm talking about!

Place in Time is a beautiful collection created to allow you to make your own calendar project with beautiful touches of nostalgia and timeless elegance.  I am using the 12x12 paper stack and mixing in some 6x6 papers from the French Country collection.

Here's my July project:

I decided to use the decorative strips for my July title and the "B" side of the July calendar paper.  I took my scissors to the cut-aparts and just had a little fun with it.  Aren't these classic summer images amazing?  I just love them all!  You'll see a card from me using these scraps soon too.

This page features a variety of manufacturer dies from the store.

I used a beautiful chipboard flourish by Blue Fern Studios, painted with some cream acrylic paint and once dry, dabbed a bit of Weathered Wood Distress Ink on it. It made the flourish morph into the design so nicely. You can find a beautiful variety of Blue Fern Studios chipboard in the store here.

Layered up a few doilies for texture.

Happy Friday crafty friends!

I'm super excited to be a part of the hop today, it's the very first blog hop for ScrapTown Lady and we couldn't be more excited to be hopping with Practical Scrappers!  Our theme is Project Life.  It's such a big trend and a great way to document your everyday events.

I decided to interpret the feel of Project Life with a card.

The starting inspiration was the Season's Summer Collection by Authentique.  I loved the bicycle and Relax sentiment, so I echoed the shape for my card base and layers. I did trim the edges of the Relax card to better fit the scale.  Notice the Friday and Saturday of my ledger paper?  : )

The chevron pattern I fussy cut from the papers, however, there are some really awesome dies in the store from My Favorite Things that you might like if you love this look.

Check these out!
