Petaloo and Quick Quotes Blog Hop!

Greetings and wishing a happy Monday to you!
Exciting news and week over at the Quick Quotes blog...

We are so thrilled to be partnering all this week with our friends at Petaloo
*****

Welcome to the Quick Quotes and Petaloo Blog Hop!

I am super thrilled to kick off our fabulous week of fun with Petaloo. Our theme for the week is Mother's Day and for my project I've chosen our Gypsy Road papers. My project started out looking like this:

It's a leftover box from a gift we received during the holidays last year.  I inked all of the corners edges of the box using Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalk Ink to prepare the surface for the transformation.
Up-Cycled Gift Box

To begin, I trimmed my pieces to fit for covering all of the sides, then inked the papers with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalk Ink. I'm a big fan of inking my paper edges to give them dimension.

The scalloped border you see is a die cut piece from a previous Club Q Kit. It fit perfectly, so I inked the edges with Antique Linen PowderPuff Chalk Ink, then attached. The bottom edges are folded over so I can still lift the cover off of the box.

Next, I added the Petaloo Burlap Trim in Cream next to the strip as a nice transition. I stapled the trim on the bottom edges of the box. The next piece that I added was a small white doily that I altered using the Antique Linen PowderPuff Chalk Ink. It slipped right under my trim and created the perfect embellishment block.

The little pearls were woven in and out of the trim and tacked down under the trim with glue. Now I added the Petaloo Darjeeling Mini Mix x8 flowers in Cream, the Darjeeling Petites x24 in Cream which are all accented by the Darjeeling Foliage Assortment x 15 to accent the blooms.

I completed the design by adding a sweet flourish that I tucked under the doily and a few little tags that I stamped the "So Loved" sentiment on using Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalk Ink.

A Bit of Spring with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to share a project over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog today.

I decided to go with a bit of a Spring theme for my project. The yellow reminds me of sunshine and I wanted to see the effect of some ombre papers in a few die cuts.

"Hello" (A2 sized card)

I used my Fancy Corner Cuts 4 for the pretty details on the upper corners of my yellow base layer. Next, I added the Polynesian Sails Oval doily, topped by a medium Horizon Boutique Oval Stacker Frame in a wood grain pattern paper.  This final layer was adhered with foam dimensional squares.

The Shasta Daisy and my Dainty Bows were cut from ombre paper. The Victorian Romance Flourish was cut apart and tucked under my flower, then I added a Mini Butterfly with Angel Wing on the upper right of it. A few gems and Stickles give the butterfly a little sparkle. The Tiny Fanciful Flourish is cut from a glassine bag.

Merry and Bright with Cheery Lynn Designs!

Happy Monday, it's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs!  How was your weekend?  Did you get much shopping, crafting or baking done?  As you can see by my photo's below it was really snowing here in Minnesota.

I took a bit of time to do some crafting of course.  I've got a card to share today inspired by our challenge this week, "Red and Green".

"Merry and Bright" (A2 sized card)

I started with the Kiwi Spirit Doily and layered it with the Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker that I turned vertically.  Next you'll see the Sophie's Heart Mini peeking out.  On top of it is the smallest Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker in a horizontal position that I attached with foam dots, then topped with the Sentiment Frame 1.

Tags 4 were used to tuck under my sentiment frame for an added fun touch.  I cut the holly leaves apart from my Mega Holly Flourish and tucked them into my border, then added a little bling for the berries.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:

Other Products:
Silver and Gold pattern papers by BoBunny
Stick Pin by Petaloo
Sentiment Rub-On and Sparklets by Kaisercraft
Pearls by Want2Scrap
Other:  Seam Binding Ribbon and Velvet Ric-Rac trim

I hope you are able to join us for our "Red and Green" challenge this week, remember there's a $20 gift certificate prize to be won!  We always enjoy seeing your beautiful creations with our dies.

Have a super scrappity Monday!

The project started with this base album cut from kraft card stock:

The default size of this album allows for 4x6 photos.  It includes the base cut for each page as well.  I love that you can make this album bigger if you like or customize the page counts to your design.  The tags that were added for journaling are from K and Company tag stacks that I had in complementary colors.  I've used the Spellbinders pinking edge square dies for photo mats.

Moxxie's papers, die cuts and stickers make putting together a mini album a very simple process.  This album was completed in an evening. I just love the sweet homespun feel of it! Now all I have to do are print out some of my favorite Easter gathering photos this year and pop them in!

Pot Luck Creativity!

Sunday greetings crafty friends!

I'm here today to share with you what I'll call my "pot luck" card.  : )  You know the kind...  you've been creating a storm with several of your favorite things and look around and get a bit of inspiration!  You grab a bit of this and a bit of that and voila~!

Our featured product at Quick Quotes this month is vellum and I took one of my 'Sentiments' Itty Bitty Vellum Quotes, did some muted chalk inking on the back to soften the look.  I also had a scrap piece of music pattern acrylic that I layered behind it.  It gives a bit of romantic flair to the feel.

The papers used here are from Dreamscape, Miss Morgan, One Fine Day, and French Quarter.  I added a flower by Petaloo and some Little Yellow Bicycle heart stick pins.  The crinkle ribbon, bow and button were my finishing touches.

PowderPuff Chalk Inks used:  Biscotti and Blue Moon.  Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles dies were used for the sentiment block and on my vellum.  Cheery Lynn Designs dies used for the leaves and flourishes.

I hope you try a little "pot luck" creating in your crafty space too!

Steam Punk Fun!

Happy Friday to you!

I'm delighted to share my project with you today!  This features several of my favorite things all together at once!  Epiphany Crafts challenged us to showcase the Round 25 Bubble Cap on a layout in a bit of a different way.  This is my finale post as a Designer for Epiphany Crafts and I wanted my project to be extra special!

"Remember This"
12x12 page
This page features the all new Tin Type line from Quick Quotes!
(Love the Steam Punk vibe!)

One of my 3 Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Bubble Caps anchors the bird.

The starting inspiration for this design was the Core'dinations with the black and teal circles.  The size of the circles coordinated perfectly with the bubble caps!  I then used my PowderPuff Chalk Inks in Baja Blue, Lemonade, Biscotti and some water to color the Chipboard Laser Diecut bird and branch.  A bit of glitter Modge Podge was added over the top.

To soften the feel of the rich colors, I used the Mega Sunflower Doily die (7.5" x 7.5") from Cherry Lynn Designs.  To create my framed sentiment I also used their Celtic Heart die (3" x 2 5/8") over one of the Quick Quotes Alphabet Sentiments.  I wanted to add some more color and used the Vintage Settings from Epiphany with a Round 14 bubble cap.

I intertwined some raffia, punched butterflies and leaves, flowers and vine and bling to frame in my photo.  The acetate accents and tickets added a little more pop of interest and color.

Take these Moments to Breathe...

Happy Monday to you!  I'm so super excited to share a special project with you today!!!  Quick Quotes and Petaloo have teamed up and its going to be an amazing week as we share our projects!

We were so very spoiled with this cross promotional partnership with Petaloo! I can’t even begin to say how totally beautiful these flowers are! When I looked at all of those gorgeous colors in the flowers, I wanted to challenge myself to combine them and our Quick Quotes lines.  Here's my project:
I took this photo recently when we were at the apple orchard and fell in love with it.  The quote "Take these moments to breathe in the beauty around you...." was absolutely perfect for this page!

For my project, I used bits of several of our beautiful lines to mix things up! You’ll find some gears layered under my flowers.  I added a bit of burlap because it just seems to work so beautifully with the Cherry Truffle line.
I thought it would be fun to bring out some more yellow, so I dry brushed some acrylic buttercream paint underneath my frosted flowers. To create a bit of a “sun” accent, I layered the larger flower into my big gear.

I also layered one of the smaller frosted flowers with some Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets diecut and my Petaloo flowers.  Isn't that Petaloo Canterbury Vine Spray in Teal divine?!  It makes me swoon!
