Sweet Moments with Quick Quotes!

Greetings to you and happy Saturday!

It's my day to host the blog over at Quick Quotes and share a project using the gray papers from our Alton and Antique Garden collections along with some chipboard from the Baggage Claim collection.

Sweet Moments (12x12 Page)

I started by using Midnight Confessions and stamping it using a coffee ring stamp, then a splatter stamp. The top trim was done using triangle strips that I layered together.  Next, I cut the banner, then matted my photo to it.

I had a kraft heart that I added, then inked with Coal Miner to coordinate with my page.  I also used my PowderPuff Chalk Inks on my craft mat, spritzed some water and then splattered onto my page.

This was a free style page that just came together so easily by mixing and matching the lines.  I love how the PowderPuff Chalk Inks add so much to a project!

Quick Quotes Supplies Used:
Alton 100
Alton 200
Antique Garden 200
Baggage Claim Chipboard Die Cuts
PowderPuff Chalk Inks: Midnight Confessions, Feather Gray, Coal Miner
Prior Club Q Kit - Sentiment

Other Supplies:
White and Kraft Card Stock - Bazzill
Mica
Stamps - BoBunny
Enamel Dots - Doodlebug and MME
Silver Tag
Epiphany Crafts Heart
Bling - Want2Scrap
Radiant Rain - Pewter

School Zone with Moxxie

Sunday greetings to you!

It's not often that I post on a Sunday but today is my day over on the Moxxie blog.  We are so spoiled and get to select certain lines that we might want to work with and one of them that I knew I wanted is called School Zone.

It's perfect for creating a Pre-K - Graduation album for your kids. I knew that I wanted to do this and made sure to pick up extra sheets and stickers all at once so I have lots to choose from.

Our oldest just graduated Pre-School and is heading to Kindergarten this fall.  I plan to capture all of the special things along the way and include them in a recap of the school year in his book.

Here is the kick off with his Pre-School graduation page:

I don't know if you're like me, but sometimes I can get "stuck" on special pages. Today I decided to just dive in -- feel the moment in the photo and capture exactly what it was, right then, in that place.

The circles of time, the changes in direction, the shift of the photo...  it's all emotion. Strange how that comes right out. It was fun to play with this collection, adding a few tidbits of my own into the mix and really focus in on the photo.

Here is a detail shot so you can see some of the stickers that I used here along with an Epiphany Crafts Epoxy Round 25 to highlight a handprint for a "High 5!" The handprints are on the reverse of this PreSchool paper.

Moxxie Ingredients:
School Zone Collection (Stickers, Rub-Ons and Papers) - Moxxie
Chillin' Out Collection (Stickers and Papers) - Moxxie

If you have a school age child or need to create a school years book, you definitely want to ask your LSS to bring this collection in.  It's seriously fantastic!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Batter Up!

Thursday Greetings crafty peeps!

It's my day on the Moxxie blog and for this project I decided to showcase the TeeBall collection. Today's post features multiple images, yet white space a a bit of fun with patterns.

I took a series of photographs of our boys playing ball in the backyard and decided to create a bit larger collage of them. These were printed scaled to 8x10, but when I cropped it the final size was 6x6.  This resulted in a nice size for balancing a page without feeling cramped.

Batter Up!

I matted my photo onto this very cool patterned paper:

See how it changed in appearance as I cropped it to a single block width?

I knew that I wanted some white space in my design, so I kept my accents and embellishments to a minimum. It's fun to play with the design strips sometimes to create your own look.  Here is the sheet of design strips.  Do you see the ones I selected?  Practice, practice, practice!  The baseball stitching thin strip, the red t-ball strip and the polka dot thin strip.

Once I had my bits and pieces arranged and positioned, I adhered everything and then added my coordinating stickers and rub-ons.  I loved the long border of baseballs that narrowed in size, so I added that to the top of my page.

I added a few extra embellies from my stash like the baseball button:
My date tab uses a piece of paper from Midway Madness.  : )

I hope I've inspired you to get those photos on paper today!  Why not try a photo collage?  It makes a big impact and keeps the focus of your page to your subject.

Going the Distance

Happy Wednesday crafty friends.

I created this page earlier this month and wanted to share it, but with the events in Boston, my heart was broken and it just was not the right time. My thoughts and prayers go out to every person affected by the senseless tragedies in Boston and also in West, Texas.

Today I feel like we are coming together and standing united against terrorism in our great country.  We will go the distance and let justice prevail.  Ironically, this collection I am showcasing today is named "Go the Distance".  I find some peace and inspiration in that and I hope that you will too.

This page is all about our "little athletes".  These guys seriously run, play and are just flat out competitive, all the time. They come by it naturally as their Dad loves to run, which completely inspired the title work.

Details...
I used a Memory Box die for the squiggly zig zag.

The white chevron background and orange "on your mark, get set GO" were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

I added some Epiphany Crafts Star 25 epoxies and one of Heidi Swapp's sequin gray stars.  The corrugate arrow is Jillibean Soup and I swiped it with Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Ink by Quick Quotes.  The base orange paper used here is from the Moxxie "Fish Stories" collection.  The underline bling is from Want2Scrap.  The flair here is from Fancy Pants.

I love all of the fun die cuts and stickers that Moxxie has with their collections, it really makes putting your page together so simple and fast!  I like to cut them apart and make them look entirely different.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity day!!!

Everday Life with Moxxie

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps!  Today I've got a project to share with you featuring some Moxxie goodness.  : )

Ever had an event happen and you don't really have quite the right papers for it?  I am not one to scrap anything too graphic, but our son had a bit of a snafu and earned his first stitch.  Of course I had to scrap this, but which paper to use?

Moxxie to the rescue!  They have a line called "Doctor Doctor" which is multi purpose in that it also has Dentist and tooth fairy or braces themes as well.

I've added several die cuts to the page and used my Epiphany Crafts round 25 to feature some of the pattern paper sentiments in the design.  Some Studio Calico pieces and a Chic Tag round out the extra's on here.  My corrugated circle is Jillibean Soup and the Everyday Life card is a Technique Tuesday by Ali Edwards.

To create my journaling spot, I simply created a text box in word and sized it to fit into the polaroid frame.  A Dymo label date added a little more emphasis to the journaling block.

The good news...  he is just fine!

If your local store doesn't have any papers for the events in your life, ask them to check out www.gotmoxxie.com.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Be sure to stop back on Friday for the Moxxie March Blog Hop.  Have a super scrappity day!

Snoopy Love!

Happy Tuesday to you!

Today I have a fun Moxxie project to share with you!  I used the XOXO Valentine's Day collection for this page.  The colors are so bright and fun, yet versatile enough to use for other projects.  Love it when that happens!!!

We took the boys to Valleyfair this past summer and the photos of them with the Snoopy statue turned out so beautifully, I thought the pop of pink in the background was just perfect with the collection.

"Snoopy Luv Forever"

The triple arrow is a Silhouette cut, the rest of the pieces are punches.  I also used a bit of pressure embossing on photo mat layer for interest. My dymo label was trimmed to fit into the arrow.

I luv the rub-ons that are part of this collection! ; )

Of course I had to add in a few Epiphany Crafts epoxy hearts!
The white heart at the top of my tab is another rub-on.  The 1,2,3 is washi tape.

Have you peeked at any of the New Releases by Moxxie yet?  You absolutely must go and browse, you will love the fun and fresh new designs!!!  Check them out here.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!!!  Have a super scrappity day!

All New "Winterland" with Moxxie!

Hi there crafty peeps!  A big giant hooray for Friday from me to you!!!

I'm super excited to be up over on the Moxxie blog today with a project featuring one of our new releases, 'Winterland'! First of all, let me tell you the colors in this collection are fantastic!!! Our family resides in Minnesota, so we definitely know something about winter here!!!

The Winterland Die Cuts were a big inspiration for creating this page. I loved the "Hear the snow crunch" circle and the "Dashing through the Snow" decorative rectangle.

I chose to cut out "Frosty" and use the "Let it Snow" paper as my background to make the designs pop. The wavy scallop white cardstock border on top simulates a snowdrift. I cut that as part of a card with my Silhouette.

Other additions here are a cabochon flower, an Epiphany Crafts Epoxy Circle 20 and I used a bottlecap from Hobby Lobby to set it in. The cardstock with swirls is Core'dinations and the embossing folder is Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls. The snowflake punches are Martha Stewart and done in white cardstock with some Diamond Stickles. The purple flourish is an MFT die.

You have got to check out this amazing collection from Moxxie, you will love every single morsel!!!

Thanks so much for stopping on over today! Have a super scrappity Friday!!!

A Classic Masculine Card

Happy Wednesday to you!

Today I have a vintage masculine card to share with you featuring Kanban Crafts papers.  I started this project with their 5.5 x 5.5 cream cardstock base.  For the flourishes I used our gold foil cardstock.

To keep with the vintage flair and theme, I added the bottle cap.

The epoxy in the middle of the bubble cap is from the decorative strip in the card kit.  It fit perfectly in the Epiphany Round 25 tool.

Steam Punk Fun!

Happy Friday to you!

I'm delighted to share my project with you today!  This features several of my favorite things all together at once!  Epiphany Crafts challenged us to showcase the Round 25 Bubble Cap on a layout in a bit of a different way.  This is my finale post as a Designer for Epiphany Crafts and I wanted my project to be extra special!

"Remember This"
12x12 page
This page features the all new Tin Type line from Quick Quotes!
(Love the Steam Punk vibe!)

One of my 3 Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Bubble Caps anchors the bird.

The starting inspiration for this design was the Core'dinations with the black and teal circles.  The size of the circles coordinated perfectly with the bubble caps!  I then used my PowderPuff Chalk Inks in Baja Blue, Lemonade, Biscotti and some water to color the Chipboard Laser Diecut bird and branch.  A bit of glitter Modge Podge was added over the top.

To soften the feel of the rich colors, I used the Mega Sunflower Doily die (7.5" x 7.5") from Cherry Lynn Designs.  To create my framed sentiment I also used their Celtic Heart die (3" x 2 5/8") over one of the Quick Quotes Alphabet Sentiments.  I wanted to add some more color and used the Vintage Settings from Epiphany with a Round 14 bubble cap.

I intertwined some raffia, punched butterflies and leaves, flowers and vine and bling to frame in my photo.  The acetate accents and tickets added a little more pop of interest and color.

Ingredients:
Round 25 Shape Studio, Epiphany Crafts
Round 25 Bubble Caps, Epiphany Crafts (3)
Round 14 Shape Studio, Epiphany Crafts
Round 14 Bubble Cap, Epiphany Crafts (1)

Kanban Elegance!

Greetings crafty friends!

I've got a little elegant card inspiration to share with you today courtesy of Kanban Crafts!  This A2 sized card features a mixture of cardstock textures and a touch of doily, pearl, lace, spool, ribbon, buttons and pins.

I used my We R Memory Keepers stub nose punch on the pink pearl card stock to keep the art deco theme to the card.  The sharp contrast of the gunmetal grey pearl cardstock gives the soft elements focus.

Here is a detail image of the button and spool cluster.  I've used my Epiphany Crafts Heart 20 button tool and button and a Heart 14 tool and bubble cap.  The little spool was a find in my local craft store.  I just added a bit of my thin ribbon to it.  The stick pins are Maya Road.  Doily is from Martha Stewart and the pearl accents are Kaisercraft.

The wavy cut on my cardstock?  That came from an American Crafts trimmer that I was fortunate to have won at my LSS crop one night this winter.

Pink Pearl Cardstock - A4PRL240BP
Gunmetal Grey Cardstock - A4MRS / GM

Epiphany Crafts and Pink Paislee!

Happy Friday crafty peeps!

Today's post is near and dear to my heart!  Why, you ask?  Because it's Pink Paislee!!!  Epiphany Crafts has teamed up with Pink Paislee to swap products and do a blog hop together!  I was a very lucky girl and received the Nantucket collection from Pink Paislee to work with.  Yumm-o!!!

What I love about this collection is the pretty and crisp feel that it has.  One look at the patterns and the embellishments and I knew exactly what this was going to be used for.  A colleague of mine had a destination wedding and I asked her to give me one of her favorite candid photos so I could maybe do something special with it.  I had been waiting for the perfect paper collection for this project for awhile.

Me and You... Sand Castle Dream

Can you find all of the Epiphany Crafts Embellishments on here?

I chose the scallop circle 25 bubble caps to echo the feel of shells and tucked them into the collage diecut elements. The heart button 20 graces the top of my compass and the heart 25 bubble cap anchors the left side of the collage with some soft peach lace pattern paper.

I plan to present this to the happy couple in a frame to be used for Home Decor. The papers in this line were just too perfect for a tropical wedding page! I tucked a bit of lace and the tassel to give a little romantic and elegant flair to the page.

I really loved that I could create a "Me and You... Sand Castle Dream" title from the collection elements!!!
