Moxxie July Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone,

Guess what day is today?  Yes, that is correct.  It is the first Friday of the month and that means it is Moxxie Blog Hop time.  This month we are going to shake things up just a bit! Design Team Member Mary Pat Siehl has created another sketch for you and each Muse will show you their take on the sketch.  The Muses will be using all different Moxxie collections.  It is going to be so fun to see what collections the Muses are using and to see how each one interprets the sketch.

So let's get us started with the sketch!  This sketch is very fun and lends itself to many different interpretations.

Isn't this sketch so versatile?  Want to see what I created using it?

My inspiration came from the season and last years fourth of July photos.  I thought it would be fun to play with the patterns and motion in this collection and it was so much fun!

I took my favorite pictures and arranged them in a collage.  I used the swirled pattern paper and created a bit of movement by fussy cutting and piecing with some stitching as an extension of the photo matting.

A bit of confetti star punch and wood veneer stars, and some sequins finished the look.  I hope you had a wonderful fourth of July and thanks for stopping on over today!

So let's get hopping.  Here are the Moxxie links:

Potluck Inspiration!

Monday Greetings to you!

I have a project to share that I like to affectionately call "Potluck Inspiration".  So, the recipe for this is...  take several leftover items that share common tone qualities.  Mix it up and layer them all together in bits and pieces using a bit of Inspiration that has captured your eye or heart.

My project is a combination of five unrelated lines from Moxxie;  "Road to Recovery", "At The Beach","Wee Ones", "Hockey" and the "Mini Diecut Cardstock - Tropical".

The starting point for my project today is an absolutely amazing inspiration of a page by Cathy Harper.

This is Cathy's awesome page..  just check this out:

This is my creation:

Some details... Chevron and Cloud cut from "Wee Ones" collection.

I loved how the flair worked with my Chic Tag here!
The circle tab under the left photo is the double circles sticker border from "At the Beach".

This was a really fun project, I love how well the "Road to Recovery" line coordinated with the grey colors in the "Wee Ones" collection.  The aqua and blue tones really played nicely with each other.  I played on the orange a bit and thought it would be interesting to pop the colorful flourish on top for an unexpected color.

Did you notice that my background paper is from our Hockey line?  Yep, it's hockey sticks.  I tried to mix it up so it looks more like X's and O's on here.  ; )

Ingredients:
Pattern Papers, Die Cuts and Stickers - Moxxie
Flair - Fancy Pants
Enamel Dots - MME
Mini Stickers - Amy Tangerine for AC
Memory Box Die
Chipboard Arrow - Heidi Swapp
Circle Tag - Chic Tags
PowderPuff Chalk Ink - Coal Miner

Thank you so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity day!

Going the Distance

Happy Wednesday crafty friends.

I created this page earlier this month and wanted to share it, but with the events in Boston, my heart was broken and it just was not the right time. My thoughts and prayers go out to every person affected by the senseless tragedies in Boston and also in West, Texas.

Today I feel like we are coming together and standing united against terrorism in our great country.  We will go the distance and let justice prevail.  Ironically, this collection I am showcasing today is named "Go the Distance".  I find some peace and inspiration in that and I hope that you will too.

This page is all about our "little athletes".  These guys seriously run, play and are just flat out competitive, all the time. They come by it naturally as their Dad loves to run, which completely inspired the title work.

Details...
I used a Memory Box die for the squiggly zig zag.

The white chevron background and orange "on your mark, get set GO" were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

I added some Epiphany Crafts Star 25 epoxies and one of Heidi Swapp's sequin gray stars.  The corrugate arrow is Jillibean Soup and I swiped it with Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalk Ink by Quick Quotes.  The base orange paper used here is from the Moxxie "Fish Stories" collection.  The underline bling is from Want2Scrap.  The flair here is from Fancy Pants.

I love all of the fun die cuts and stickers that Moxxie has with their collections, it really makes putting your page together so simple and fast!  I like to cut them apart and make them look entirely different.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Have a super scrappity day!!!

Tiny Miracle with Moxxie!

Happy Friday to you!

Today I have a page to share with you featuring the all new line from Moxxie called "Wee Ones".  It's so heartwarming and cute, plus the patterns are fantastic!

"Tiny Miracle" 12x12 Layout

I love this "We made a wish and you came true" die cut!

I mixed in a bit of "Reach for the Stars" yellow for the speech bubble.

I started with the chevron pattern paper and decided to do some hand cutting. Once I had that piece, I pulled the rest of my colors and papers together.  The speech bubble above I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out. That paper is from our "Reach for the Stars" collection.

The beauty with Moxxie is not only how their papers are fantastic, but also how beautifully done their die cuts are! See the banner sentiment strips?  They are pre-done and ready for you to use.  Cooler yet, flip them over and you'll find another pattern waiting for you.  FUN!

You'll see a few extras that I mixed in.  The "You Make my Heart Sing" sentiment (Chic Tags), Acrylic star (FP, with the ribbon tied to it!), a flair button (AC) and some enamel dots (MME) and (TC). Other items added were a chipboard cloud (Studio Calico) and seam binding ribbon (stash). I used Quick Quotes Tahiti Powderpuff Chalk Ink on my aqua block. This time around I also added a few ink splatters.

Be sure to ask for this sweet line at your LSS if you have any baby books to do!

Have a super scrappity day and weekend!!!
~ Rhonda

p.s.  I'm entering this into the Chic Tags "Stars Sunday Challenge".

The project started with this base album cut from kraft card stock:

The default size of this album allows for 4x6 photos.  It includes the base cut for each page as well.  I love that you can make this album bigger if you like or customize the page counts to your design.  The tags that were added for journaling are from K and Company tag stacks that I had in complementary colors.  I've used the Spellbinders pinking edge square dies for photo mats.

Moxxie's papers, die cuts and stickers make putting together a mini album a very simple process.  This album was completed in an evening. I just love the sweet homespun feel of it! Now all I have to do are print out some of my favorite Easter gathering photos this year and pop them in!

Everday Life with Moxxie

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps!  Today I've got a project to share with you featuring some Moxxie goodness.  : )

Ever had an event happen and you don't really have quite the right papers for it?  I am not one to scrap anything too graphic, but our son had a bit of a snafu and earned his first stitch.  Of course I had to scrap this, but which paper to use?

Moxxie to the rescue!  They have a line called "Doctor Doctor" which is multi purpose in that it also has Dentist and tooth fairy or braces themes as well.

I've added several die cuts to the page and used my Epiphany Crafts round 25 to feature some of the pattern paper sentiments in the design.  Some Studio Calico pieces and a Chic Tag round out the extra's on here.  My corrugated circle is Jillibean Soup and the Everyday Life card is a Technique Tuesday by Ali Edwards.

To create my journaling spot, I simply created a text box in word and sized it to fit into the polaroid frame.  A Dymo label date added a little more emphasis to the journaling block.

The good news...  he is just fine!

If your local store doesn't have any papers for the events in your life, ask them to check out www.gotmoxxie.com.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!  Be sure to stop back on Friday for the Moxxie March Blog Hop.  Have a super scrappity day!

December Blog Hop with Moxxie!

Happy Friday crafty peeps!

You should be arriving here from the ever talented Dana Tatar's blog!

Welcome to our Moxxie December blog hop! This month, you could WIN the gorgeous Winterland collection, composed of frosty shades of blues and purples:

Want to see what I created with this amazing collection?

I love to browse the dollar bin at my local Michael's!  I found this fun star shaped chipboard mini and the fun thing with this shape is that you can take it apart and make a lot of individual ornaments with it. They also have mitten and snowmen shapes as well, in addition to many others.

The rich cool colors in this line really pop nicely with a bit of stickles!  I absolutely love making fun ornaments like this!!!

You can see where I've added Stickles into the pattern paper here and also touched on the snowflakes of my sticker as well.  The scalloped snowman sticker is quite popular among the designers!  ; )

The simple reverse side of the ornament.

Ingredients:  Winterland collection by Moxxie, Star Mini Chipboard Album, Michael's $1 bin, Foam Tape by Imaginisce, emery board, Modge Podge, Zyron 2.5" Sticker Maker, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Jute, Diamond Stickles, Other:  Stick Pins and Trim.

November Moxxie Blog Hop!

Welcome!!!  Are you ready for a new Moxxie Design Team Blog Hop?

The November featured collection is "Forever Family".

This amazing color palette is perfect for family portraits, heritage photos, and even a pretty fall-themed layout! The front sides of each paper are title papers for each member of the family.  The back sides have a variety of both masculine and feminine patterns for you to use to accent your photos.

Card makers and paper crafters; the designs are small, so even on a smaller sized cut of paper, you are still going to get the colors and textures of the large design.

In addition to these great papers, the embellishments will help give your creations a family-type flair. Use them as titles, journaling spaces, accent pieces and embellishment clusters to finish off your pages.

The Moxxie Muses have put together some awesome ideas for this line and you could win* the entire collection.

Want to see what I created using this fantastic line?

"Grandparents are Great!"

I loved these photos that I grabbed of our little guy on the day of his big brother's birthday!  Grandma brought him a gift to help celebrate so he wouldn't feel left out while his brother was opening up all of his presents. Grandma Rocks!!!

I used one of our Mini Die Cuts from the Fall collection stack as a photo mat and incorporated many die cuts in the design from the collection. I've also accented with a circular cluster cut from my Silhouette and a few cut from my own dies. A button and bit of baker's twine added a bit of texture.  I used some foam tape under the sentiment block as well.

The back of the bubble sentiment was lined with yellow paper to make the "You Rock" pop a bit. Accent circle bits were attached to the square border on the bottom for fun.   : )

This project was partially inspired by Sketch #344 from Sketch Inspiration.

Ingredients:
Forever Family collection by Moxxie
Mini Die Cut stack in "Fall" by Moxxie
Bubble sentiment by Studio Calico
Baker's Twine by Martha Stewart
Button by October Afternoon
Foam Tape by Imaginisce
Ribbon Candy Border and Loopy Rings die by Memory Box
Silhouette
Other:  Sewing Machine and Thread

Moxxie Hop featuring Road to Recovery

It's time for another Moxxie Blog Hop!

You should be coming from Dana's blog.  If you don't know where to start, go here.

Join the Moxxie Muses the first Friday of every month to be inspired and for the chance to win a complete collection of the featured line! We're continuing our blog hop series this month with the Road to Recovery collection.

Moxxie released the Road To Recovery collection, an elegant and poignant line designed for people fighting long-term illnesses, in July.

Moxxie thought it was time to create a beautiful line that focused on healing, but also encouraged the writer to be honest about what they were really going through. The designs of this collection are versatile and can not only help a patient document their recovery, but it can also be used for get well, thinking of you, and sympathy cards, as well as to create layouts on just about any topic.

---------

This collection is near and dear to my heart.  The gray, light blue and buttercream colors are so comforting.  Here's what I created using this line for the hop today...

"Hope, Courage, Perseverance..."  12x12 Layout

The human spirit is stronger than anything than can happen to it.
I layered my journaling block to create some focus to the sentiment.

The chicken wire die cut represents a broken puzzle of sorts.

Thankfully, my husband is well on his way to recovery.  He is back at work and doing better everyday.  Back in February, he had a skiing accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury or TBI.  It's the equivalent of a concussion on steroids and recovery is a slow and steady process, truly a journey. I wanted to document this event as a part of our family history.

Sometimes the pages we need to do are not nice, neat and fluffy sweet. This collection allowed me to take some of "those" moments and create a memory for that part of our lives.

The very cool thing about this collection is the versatility to go beyond its purpose.  You should see the ways that the designer's have used it to create lots of other projects!  Be sure to hop through for all kinds of other beautiful ideas.

Ingredients:
Road to Recovery (Patten Papers, Die Cuts and Stickers) by Moxxie
Ribbon by May Arts
Chicken Wire, Mini Dimensional Butterflies with Angel Wings, Anastasia Border and Nautical Wheeler Doily dies by Cheery Lynn Designs
Double scallop border punch by Martha Stewart
Pumice and Weathered Wood Distress Inks by Ranger
