Princess and a Swing

Greetings to you on this fine Sunday!

(Imaginisce and Twinery hoppers, please click here.)

I actually have a 'girly' creation today to share with you.  This is created with the beautiful English Riviera card base and the Patchwork Pals stamp set "Bonnie - Party Time" from Kanban Crafts.

I used scraps from my last card mini album project to piece together her outfit.  Once that was done I searched my desk for my other Kanban scraps and this little creation was complete:

I used one of the Cavendish Die Cut frames and cut it to create her "swing"  I fit behind that die another black oval that had a tiara in it to piece my little "princess".  It is adhered with eyelets so I could string the "rope" though.  I've added an acrylic heart at the top along with a couple of Epiphany Crafts floral buttons 20 using coordinating Kanban papers.  One extra bling is added to her tiara for some added sparkle.

For the frills here I've used Cheery Lynn Designs dies:  Exotic Butterflies Small, Mega Fanciful Flourish and Olive Branches for the leaves. I cut apart the mega flourish to piece it in around the swing.

This project is being entered into the Cheery Lynn Designs Happy Birthday Challenge 24.

I had so much fun creating this card.  For 2012 I resolved to use my stamps and Copics more often.  To be honest, it's just a lot of fun to piece these together!!!  Mixing across the lines for this was also a great way to get an interesting collaboration too.

Ingredients Used:
Swing Die Cut:  Cavendish Portraits - PCT9758, Kanban Crafts
Stamp:  Patchwork Pals; Bonnie - Party Time PPAS003, Kanban Crafts
Sentiment:  English Riviera, Kanban Crafts
Miscellaneous:  Foam Squares, Bird, Flower, Princess Oval Die Cut, Kanban Crafts
Green and Cream Cardstock:  Bazzill
Other:  Hemp and Copics and Gem

Mini Album Card

Happy Saturday crafty friends!

I have a fun and different project to share with you today.  This was created for a co-worker's congratulations send off as they started a new career path in a new role for our company.   I thought it would be really fun to create a "Congratulations and Thank You" Mini Album Card that everyone could write a special story or note of thanks at the gathering.

This is what I created using Kanban Crafts:

I just loved the little owls and birdhouse die cut that accompanied it's 12x12 kit.  I added some flourishes that were cut with my Spellbinders from the Kanban Crafts rose foil paper.

The assembly is fairly simple.  4x6" pages, tied together with some jute.  I added a "For Someone Special" sentiment from the English Riviera line to the tied binding with a pear pin (A. Jillian Vance Designs).

Page 2 and 3:

Pages 4 and 5:

Pages 6 and 7:
A little inside joke...  Our dept. name pocket for secrets to take with.

Pages 8 and 9:

Back Cover:
The back is very clean and simple.

I will definitely make another one of these if the occasion calls for it!  All it took was two coordinating Kanban Crafts 12x12 page kits.  I also used the sentiment kit for the Congratulations and Thank You.  There are lots of spaces here to add little photos and notes.

Ingredients:
Papers, sentiments and coordinating die cuts:  Kanban Crafts
Stub Corner Punch and Cropodile Big Bite, We R Memory Keepers
Pear Pin, A Jillian Vance Designs
Kraft Envelope, Maya Road
Dymo Labler, Dymo
Other:  Vellum Envelope and Pink Jute

If you haven't yet had a chance to see or use Kanban Crafts products, be sure to ask for them at your LSS!

Have a wonderful Saturday and enjoy your weekend!!!

Easter Sonrise

Greetings crafty peeps!

I'm here today with a little Easter holiday inspiration for you featuring Kanban Crafts products.  One of my stamp sets has this sweet little lamb in it and I thought it was perfect to use for Easter.

I stamped the lamb, colored with my Copics, then added some floral soft to create texture.  Some glossy accents were used for the eyes.  The ribbon was tied in a shape to represent a rock.

The cross die here is Spellbinders and I've accented with some cheese cloth behind it, a cabochon center and a few pearl gems.

Stamp 9004
CRD9989 - Floral Frame - Blue Background Card

A Classic Masculine Card

Happy Wednesday to you!

Today I have a vintage masculine card to share with you featuring Kanban Crafts papers.  I started this project with their 5.5 x 5.5 cream cardstock base.  For the flourishes I used our gold foil cardstock.

"Today's Experiences" (5.5 x 5.5) Card

To keep with the vintage flair and theme, I added the bottle cap.

The epoxy in the middle of the bubble cap is from the decorative strip in the card kit.  It fit perfectly in the Epiphany Round 25 tool.

Kanban Crafts has some of the nicest masculine card products to work with!   I love the vintage flair of this particular line, but of course I just love vintage anything!!!  he he!

Black and brown card stock, Bazzill

Tweet Tweet!

Wednesday greetings to you!

Today's project is a fun explosion of colors!  The pattern paper and birds are a Kanban Crafts cardstock page kit named "Tweet".  I love this photo of my boys when they did not want to hold still for a moment to take a photo.  The birds flying all over the paper reminded me of the boys wiggling in this picture.

Ever have some of those pictures that you love and you're not sure quite why?  It might not be the most stellar photo of all time, but it just moves you for some reason?  I say scrap it and capture the memories of the moment.

A few details and texture:

I cut one of the small little birds from the pattern paper and it became my inspiration for the title.  Do you see her on the bottom corner of the journaling pocket?

The scallop circle diecut shape was created with the new We R Memory Keepers 8 punch.  I mixed up my cardstock colors pulling from the pattern paper and used a few of my punches for interest.  The bright pink strip is one of the paper craft ribbons from Kanban Crafts.

I also mixed up the sizes of alphas for my titlework and finished it up with my Dymo labeler and journaling style strips.  Some buttons and stick pins were added to my accent bird in a collage type of way to give some dimension.

Quick Update

Happy Friday all!

I have a quick card creation to share with you from Kanban Crafts.  I loved the sentiment for this one and the spinner was a nice little extra fit for it.

This is also dedicated to my husband who is recovering from a skiing accident last weekend.  He is home from the hospital now.  Things may be slightly interrupted here but I hope to be back very soon with something more to share.

Thanks for all the support and prayers from our Facebook friends and families and from you here too!

Kanban Elegance!

Greetings crafty friends!

I've got a little elegant card inspiration to share with you today courtesy of Kanban Crafts!  This A2 sized card features a mixture of cardstock textures and a touch of doily, pearl, lace, spool, ribbon, buttons and pins.

I used my We R Memory Keepers stub nose punch on the pink pearl card stock to keep the art deco theme to the card.  The sharp contrast of the gunmetal grey pearl cardstock gives the soft elements focus.

Here is a detail image of the button and spool cluster.  I've used my Epiphany Crafts Heart 20 button tool and button and a Heart 14 tool and bubble cap.  The little spool was a find in my local craft store.  I just added a bit of my thin ribbon to it.  The stick pins are Maya Road.  Doily is from Martha Stewart and the pearl accents are Kaisercraft.

The wavy cut on my cardstock?  That came from an American Crafts trimmer that I was fortunate to have won at my LSS crop one night this winter.

Kanban Valentine

Monday crafty greetings to you!

I wanted to share a couple of Kanban Crafts treat bag creations that I made in case you're needing a bit of last minute Valentine ideas.  The bags are simple cellophane treat bags you can find at any craft store or Wal-Mart.  For the topper, I used my Spellbinders Grand Labels 4 and folded in half.

The little birdie was so cute, I added an Epiphany Crafts Round 25 bubble cap on a bow.  The sentiment stamp is from A Jillian Vance Designs and was just perfect!  The relief paper was from the Kanban kit, how sweet it worked out!!!  Of course, I had to add a little romantic flair with my i-Rock and heart glam rocks from Imaginisce!!!

I used the "XOXO" sentiment stamp from A Jillian Vance Design here along with Mr. Owl.  He's adorable and a bit of glossy accents on his eyes and nose made him pop!

I hope you are all set for Valentine's Day, but if you're not and need a quick solution, these were super fun and easy to put together!

Va Va Va Voom - Kanban Style!

Happy weekend to you!

I wanted to stop in today to share a really fun swanky creation using Kanban Crafts.  I call this one "All About Her"!  I used a variety of Kanban products on this card that mixed together for a fun effect!

Some glitter acetate and black metallic finish cardstock along with the black damask print really gives this card an elegant feel.  It may be a bit on the "vampy" side, but I love it for something feminine and different!
Tips:
  1. The black border strip is the relief of a scallop square die cut. How's that for using your scraps?
  2. Adding a little strategic accent bling can really transform a project.  Check out her hairpiece, glove and the border.
Kanban Products:
Moulin Divas- Black PCT9878
Black Damask-Red CRD1353
Black metallic cardstock
Red Glitter Acetate

Kanban Creations to Share!

Happy Friday!!!  Are there any sweeter words?  I'm sure vacation comes to mind if you are fortunate to be on it right now!  This time of year is so much fun with the extra days off here and there and all of the festivities, isn't it?

Today I have a few fun creations to share that I made with my Kanban Crafts products.

First up, is Percy the penguin.  He is a wobbler and was so much fun to create!!!  I cut a section of his hat and slipped his hair through.  I also added some i-rock gems to bring the design to life a bit.
Isn't he fun?  My kids love to rock him and see him wobble and move!!!
The irony of this card is that here in Minnesota, we currently have NO snow!  I can hardly believe we are heading into 2012 with no snow on the ground!!!

It's always fun to mix things up so of course I had to create a pretty card as well!
I added some extra trims, adhered my die cut shapes and sentiment block with foam tape for a little dimension.  A simple string bow added a lot of interest for the sentiment block.

"Let it Snow - Wobbler" - Ingredients:
Percy - Product ID: PCT9452
Silver Pearl Cardstock - A4PRL240FSI
