Happy Holidays Tag with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you, it's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I have a little holiday tag inspiration for you today featuring one of the newer release dies, the Happy Holidays Hanger.

For fun I used a bit of non traditional holiday color scheme.

I used the Scalloped Rectangle die to create my tag base. Next I added the Horizon Coved Rectangle, cut it apart and layered the Swedish Spring Oval Frame in a horizontal position.

You'll see some delicate snowflakes cut from vellum and accented with tiny bling. The Happy Holidays Hanger sentiment in a bright color and the Pretty Pretty Bow finish the design along with some seam binding ribbon and hemp bow.

Spring Inspiration with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

The weather here has been incredibly beautiful! Our plants are coming in nicely and everything is so vibrant and pretty right now. This card today was inspired by the pretty colors of Spring in the new Enchanted Garden collection by BoBunny.  I love the greens and blues with the purple.

I used the Anastasia Border to frame in my second layer.  On top of that I used my Scalloped Rectangle Cardmaker Classic. The Ivy Corner Flourish was next and anchors in the Shuttered Window with Flower Box.

Once I selected my background layers I knew I wanted to use the Window as my focal point of the card.  I cut a piece of vellum and laid a piece of cheese cloth on top to layer behind the windowframe to soften the look. I tucked behind the Sentiment Frame on the very top.

Designer's Tip:  To attach the vellum and cheese cloth, I used a tiny stapler on the top of the window frame. The staples are hidden and it was easier to secure than with glue.

A mixture of tiny florals from the Babies Breath Flower Kit were mixed in with my Princess Tree to resemble lilacs. I then added some Roses into the Flower Box and a Daisy on the right side to anchor it. I added a few gems and glitter glue to finish off my card.

Customizing Your Embellishments

Greetings crafty friends!  I'm up on the Moxxie blog today with a fun page featuring Moxxie's "Fish Stories/Happy Camper" collections.

Ever have an embellishment that you just love and want to use, but it doesn't quite work for your project the way it is?  I have that happen too. Here's an example from my project today that I absolutely loved and wanted to incorporate.

This super cute wooden frame:
My photo collage did not fit under it nicely, so I just cut it apart.

I thought it worked nicely as a dock or fence accent here.

I had some "Lure Me In" paper scraps left from my last project and I decided to cut the word "Fish" and the large fish out and layer them into the design.  To add interest I did cut each of the fins to add some texture.

The sweet little owl was cut from one of the Happy Camper Punch-Out die cuts.  I added Glossy Accents to his eyes and perched him with foam dots on a piece of the rope die cut from that same sheet.

The beige flourish die cuts were the last elements that I put in place. They really help your eye move through the title work and around the page.

Ingredients Used:
Kraft Cardstock
Diamond Stickles and Glossy Accents- Ranger
Enamel Dots - Theresa Collins
Chesapeake Circle - Memory Box Die
Brown Bling - Want2Scrap
Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalk Ink - Quick Quotes
Other:  Wood Alpha's, Sewing Machine and Thread

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!

Potluck Inspiration!

Monday Greetings to you!

I have a project to share that I like to affectionately call "Potluck Inspiration".  So, the recipe for this is...  take several leftover items that share common tone qualities.  Mix it up and layer them all together in bits and pieces using a bit of Inspiration that has captured your eye or heart.

My project is a combination of five unrelated lines from Moxxie;  "Road to Recovery", "At The Beach","Wee Ones", "Hockey" and the "Mini Diecut Cardstock - Tropical".

The starting point for my project today is an absolutely amazing inspiration of a page by Cathy Harper.

This is Cathy's awesome page..  just check this out:

This is my creation:

Some details... Chevron and Cloud cut from "Wee Ones" collection.

I loved how the flair worked with my Chic Tag here!
The circle tab under the left photo is the double circles sticker border from "At the Beach".

This was a really fun project, I love how well the "Road to Recovery" line coordinated with the grey colors in the "Wee Ones" collection.  The aqua and blue tones really played nicely with each other.  I played on the orange a bit and thought it would be interesting to pop the colorful flourish on top for an unexpected color.

Did you notice that my background paper is from our Hockey line?  Yep, it's hockey sticks.  I tried to mix it up so it looks more like X's and O's on here.  ; )

Ingredients:
Pattern Papers, Die Cuts and Stickers - Moxxie
Flair - Fancy Pants
Enamel Dots - MME
Mini Stickers - Amy Tangerine for AC
Memory Box Die
Chipboard Arrow - Heidi Swapp
Circle Tag - Chic Tags
PowderPuff Chalk Ink - Coal Miner

Harvesting Memories with Moxxie!

Hi there crafty peeps!!!  I'm up today over at the Moxxie Blog with a project to share.

Can you believe how quickly Fall has arrived?  I just absolutely love this season for so many reasons, the crisp change in the air, the beautiful colors and apples too!  I also really love the "Shades of Autumn" collection that Moxxie has.

Our son just recently turned five and can now climb the wall at our gym.  I took all of these photos the day after his birthday.  When I printed out my collage of the favorites, the "Shades of Autumn" matched perfectly, and I mean...  per-fect-ly!  I loved that the season connection worked for this page as well.  Most of all, I love to take a collection and twist it just a bit.  Don't ever feel like you can't use a collection differently than its intended purpose.

I started this page build by selecting my vertical pattern paper strip.  I wanted to emulate the feel of the high climbing wall and the motion of the activity is represented by the leaves.  From there, I chose the contrasting colors and border punches that I wanted to use for texture.  I stitched those layers together and attached them down.  Next, I mixed in one of the Moxxie Die Cut sheets.  Now, the photo placement was determined and some ruler ribbon was added, followed by the ticket sticker strip.  (Say that three times fast, I dare you!!!)  I tucked in a calendar journaling circle to capture the date.

Then, I added my flourish die cut, pierced a few holes in between the tickets and tied some hemp and curled the ends.  The "Harvesting Memories" sticker was elevated with foam tape, then the ribbon die cuts placed underneath.  My title work was the final and fun part of this page!  I loved the "Falling" sentiment sticker.  I figured the gist of this was "Climbing Up and Falling Down".  : )  So, I played on that a bit creating my Climbing as a long vertical title.  I chose different alphas and textures to keep the page interesting.

A final touch of my favorite bling was added for the perfect finishing touch.  I cut it apart and tucked into the design.

Ingredients:
Shades of Autumn Collection, Moxxie
Mini Diecut Stack in Fall, Moxxie
Scallop Border Punch, Fiskars
Ticket Border Punch, Jenni Bowlin
Deep Edge Double Circle Chain, Martha Stewart

Seasons of Change

Happy Wednesday to you!

I've got a fun new Moxxie page to share with you today, fall themed of course.  This line is called "Shades of Autumn".  I also added some of Moxxie's die cut papers which are so much fun!

The starting inspiration for this was my fun photos!  Then I looked to my scalloped die cut circle.  I created another layer for it using my Figure 8 punch on one of my pattern papers.  Then, I fussy cut the tree and some landscaping and layered it down first.  A bit of Diamond Stickles are added to the leaves.  The scalloped border is an MFT die cut from Core'dinations and it was sanded for texture.

Here's a detail image:
I love that coordinating circular sticker strip!

Here are the Moxxie Die-Cut Papers:

Ingredients:
Moxxie Shades of Autumn Papers and Stickers
Moxxie Die-Cut Papers
Silhouette for Fall sentiment
Core'dinations cardstock
We R Memory Keepers Figure 8 Punch
MFT Scallop Border Die

Ranger Diamond Stickles

If your LSS doesn't have Moxxie, ask them to bring some in!  You can always find it over at www.Scrapbook.com as well.
