Celebrate Fall with UmWowStudio

Greetings!

We recently featured the Layered Chipboard over at UmWowStudio and I wanted to share my project with you here.

I used the Sweater Weather 6x6 stack from DCWV for this card. Isn't the hombre effect so soft?  The realistic patterned paper in the leaves was so fun to use too.

I backed the open pumpkin with patterned paper and then added glossy accents to the center and let dry.  Some stickles were added to the border to emphasize the patterned paper insert.

The other pumpkin with stripes is sandwiched with some patterned paper in between the layers. A few flourishes for vines were added to the collage. I used my Copics to color the stems.

Missing You with Cheery Lynn Designs

Monday greetings to you, it's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I have a "Missing You" sentiment card to share with you today.  My card was created using a variety of our pretty dies. One thing that I really love to do is mix and match our dies.

"Missing You" (A2 sized card)

I started by cutting the medium Horizon Square Boutique Stacker, then scored and folded it. I adhered to the back. Next, I layered under on the front the French Lattice Small and on top of it, half of a Kiwi Spirit Doily.

I cut the Southern Charm Valance from cardboard of a cereal box, then added a coat of gesso. It was adhered with some glossy accents on the lines and vines. I left the right center side open so I could layer in my Sentiment Tag 2 and Horizon Fishtail Banner.

I've shaped my Horizon Fishtail Banner to add a bit of dimension and charm. My Tea Rose flower was first embossed using the Foliage Embossing Plate, then cut, shaped and inked lightly. I tucked in the Mini Fanciful Flourish and added the petite florals from Embellishments 3 to add a bit of a delicate touch. Pearl centers finished the flower along with a few little stick pins.

Relaxing on a Saturday...

Happy Saturday to you! It's my day over on the Quick Quotes blog. I have a card to share featuring the very pretty Dusty Road collection.

I thought it would be fun to stamp and color for a change*, so I gave it a try.  I've not colored with my Copics in awhile so I decided to practice again, which is where this card came from. I had my Dusty Road papers in front of me and took great inspiration from the collections colors.

*Disclaimer - I am a total novice with Copics.  No Copics or stamps were harmed during this process - pretty sure anyway.  : )

The fun thing with our 6x6 Paper Pads is they are so perfect for card making.  I love the variety of papers included, including the card stock.

I thought the tiny bow was too cute so I put it in her hair:

The colors in this line work wonderfully for so many projects, from feminine to masculine. I also love how a simple design can look intricate with just a few additions of a flourish or die cut.

It was fun to break out of my comfort zone and try something different. That's what I love about this hobby, there's always something to spark your creativity!  I started out coloring this image with brunette hair, but switched to blonde because it reminded me of the friend that I am going to send this to.

Christmas Card Inspiration with Imaginisce!

Greetings to you!!!

This month over at Imaginisce a few of us were challenged to create a few Christmas cards.  How fun is that?!

Here are a few simple cards that you can create with your leftovers from other projects.  I don't know about you, but there are times when I'm creating a project that I cut or create extra things and then don't end up using them.  For my cards today, I used our "Christmas Cheer" collection scraps from prior projects and of course my favorite i-Rock tool.

This wreath sticker is layered on top of a delicate lacy die cut by Memory Box.  I used my Silhouette to cut the negative chevrons and then created a simple fishtail banner to layer it on.  A bit of extra shimmer is added with my i-Rock and a variety of pretty hot rocks and glam rocks, plus a little silver tear for the candle flame.

My next card features our Snag 'em stamp that I colored using my Copics, a sticker stacker and a canvas sticker accented with some more gems.  The flourish was cut with my Silhouette.  A bit of embossing on the background pattern paper gives a bit of texture.

Some details for you...

I just love using my Copic markers!!!  Our Snag 'Em stamps are so much fun!

Ingredients:  Christmas Cheer Collection, Reindeer Snag 'em Stamp, Canvas Sticker, Sticker Stacker, i-Rock, Hot Rocks Compact - Jewel, Glam Rocks - Silver Tears, Glam Rocks - Hot Rocks Compact - Glitter, Glam Rocks - Pearl, Swiss Dot Cardstock, Bazzill, Silhouette, d'Vine Swirls Embossing Folder, Big Shot by Sizzix, Anastasia Border Die, Cheery Lynn Designs, Floral Lace Die, Memory Box.

Thanks for the fun card challenge Imaginsce!  I always love to make cards!!!

Have a super scrappity day!!!

The inspiration for my card is shared by two Veterans' who are near and dear to my heart.  My brother Gary who served in the Gulf War and my cousin Ryan who served three tours in Iraq as a Navy fighter pilot.  I truly live among hero's in my family and honor their service and fight for our freedom.  Our family is grateful for their safe return.

We also remember those who have fought for us and are not here today.  To their family and friends we say a humble thank you, as words are not enough.

Share-A-Card and Imaginisce!

Happy Wednesday to you!

I was so excited that the gals here at Imaginisce are partnering up with such a great organization like Share-A-Card!  I created two cards, one pretty clean and simple and another featuring our Snag 'em Stamps with our Christmas Cheer Collection.

I loved the elegant look of the embossed white against the red card stock, so I used it and a cute die and layered with a bit of foam tape.  I accented the "Ho Ho Ho" with a bit of bling with my iRock.

For my next card, I used our Rudolph Snag 'Em stamp for inspiration, colored and cut him out and layered with a few other elements.  I punched a snowflake from my little folder tab die for some negative space interest and layered a white punched snowflake on top.

I really had fun creating these cards and hope that you'll join us in supporting Share-A-Card!

Ingredients:  Christmas Cheer Papers, Chipboard and Sticker Stacker, iRock, Glam Rocks Pogo and Foam Tape by Imaginisce, Red and White Cardstock by Bazzill, Burst die by Memory Works, Fishtail die by MFT, Tab die by Lifestyle Crafts, Scallop border punches by Fiskars, Embossing plate by Spellbinders, Snowflake punches by Martha Stewart, Big Shot by Sizzix, Copics, Memento Ink, Sentiment stamp by Hero Arts, Ribbon by May Arts.
