Inspirational Canvas with Quick Quotes

Happy Tuesday to you!  I have a fun project to share with you that I created for Quick Quotes recently.

I made an inspirational canvas to share with you featuring the all new "Anchors Aweigh" collection along with a few pieces from another new collection called "49 Shades of Grey". A while ago a friend of mine was creating a few of these canvases at a crop and I was very intrigued and wanted to give it a try.

I used my PowderPuff Chalk Inks to color the edges of my 8x10 canvas prior to adhering my pattern papers. I simply ripped them and decoupaged them on. You can see some tissue paper from an old pattern is used here as well.

The heart and sentiment strips were stamped with PowderPuff Chalk Ink in Midnight Confessions. I used a paint brush with Peach to color in the heart and Blue Lagoon and Caribbean Blue blended to achieve the other colors in the heart.

Here you can see some modeling paste that I used along with Gold Glimmer spray. The flourish rub-ons are from my Quick Quotes stash of goodies. They worked perfectly as little accents around the canvas. The wonderful thing about this technique is it doesn't matter if they adhere perfectly, you just take bits and pieces and rub them where you want an accent.

I hope I inspired you today to check out our new paper collections and don't be afraid to look in your stash to find another item or two that works with your project. If you feel a little stuck like I did at first, I spent some time checking out YouTube and Christy Tomlinson's videos were a great resource!.

Missing You with Cheery Lynn Designs

Monday greetings to you, it's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I have a "Missing You" sentiment card to share with you today.  My card was created using a variety of our pretty dies. One thing that I really love to do is mix and match our dies.

"Missing You" (A2 sized card)

I started by cutting the medium Horizon Square Boutique Stacker, then scored and folded it. I adhered to the back. Next, I layered under on the front the French Lattice Small and on top of it, half of a Kiwi Spirit Doily.

I cut the Southern Charm Valance from cardboard of a cereal box, then added a coat of gesso. It was adhered with some glossy accents on the lines and vines. I left the right center side open so I could layer in my Sentiment Tag 2 and Horizon Fishtail Banner.

I've shaped my Horizon Fishtail Banner to add a bit of dimension and charm. My Tea Rose flower was first embossed using the Foliage Embossing Plate, then cut, shaped and inked lightly. I tucked in the Mini Fanciful Flourish and added the petite florals from Embellishments 3 to add a bit of a delicate touch. Pearl centers finished the flower along with a few little stick pins.

Believe Tag with UmWowStudio

Happy Wednesday crafty peeps!  I've got a project to share with you that I created for UmWowStudio. For my project today I decided to go out of my comfort zone.

I created a feminine inspirational tag featuring the relief of the "Believe" sentiment from our Christmas Speech Bubbles chipboard.

"Be You-nique and Believe"

Believe. One of my very good friends always says this to me. It's funny how this one little word can have such a profound and calming impact. When I saw this in the Christmas Speech Bubbles, I knew I wanted to use in as part of the inspirational message on the tag.

Both of my chipboard elements were colored with some Smooch in Lettuce and a touch of Frosted Acadia. To accent the delicate features of the Leaf Stems I added some crystals from Prima in a variety of styles. I love the way the chipboard and flair created their own embellishment cluster!

UmWowStudio Products:
Leaf Stems
The 2 of Us Flair
Christmas Speech Bubbles

Other: Tag Base, Papers, Stamp and Crystals by Prima. Smooch in Lettuce and Frosted Acadia. Be You-Nique sentiment from Primrose 3x4 Misc Me card by BoBunny, Copics and Ribbon. Ribbon Bow on Dress by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper. Bell Doily Die by Cheery Lynn Designs.

This was a fun project for me, hope you enjoyed it.  Thanks so much for stopping on over to my blog today and have a super scrappity day!
