Focus on Metallic Rub-Ons with BoBunny

Saturday greetings to you! I was recently up on the BoBunny Blog with a project to feature one of our newest products, Metallic Rub-Ons, Dies and the Garden Journal collection.

I was so excited to be assigned the new Silver Filagree Metallic Rubons as a featured item for my project today! I absolutely love rubons and the way they add so much to your page without adding a ton of bulk.  The shimmer of these is simply fantastic!

I used the Love sentiment onto my photo, the Flourishes are to the left of my layers and the Doily on right right corner are from the Filagree Silver Foil pack.

My layers start with some stamping first using Distressed Textures on my background paper with Licorice Ink. Next is a scalloped rectangle Noteworthy element followed by the Film Tape from Rose Cafe. Next, is a piece of corrugated cardboard that I peeled, then added some Pearlescents in Silver, Blush and Brilliant Blue. While that was drying, I used my Love Stickable Stencils along with Glitter Paste in Sugar. I cut a border from the Elegant Border Die and trimmed to 3 sections long, then layered it under the cardboard and stitched into place.

Using my coordinating 6x6 Garden Journal Paper Pad, I cut the papers using the 4x4 Portrait Frame Dies and adhered the layers to one another. Cut it in half, then adhered to my matted photo from behind. Attached some cheese cloth to my photo layer from behind, then attached foam squares to provide a bit of dimension.

With the remaining section from the border die cut, I folded it in half and glued it together.  I used it as the heart accent in the upper left on the Noteworthy tag banner and added a pearl Jewel to it. A few Blossoms, Jewel Flourishes and a Brad finish the page.

I hope you get a chance to pick up some of the new Foil Rubons, you will really love the versatility and elegance that they add to your projects.

Just Hangin' Out with Quick Quotes!

Happy Friday!!!

I'm super excited to share a page that I created with pieces from the June Club Q kit today!  It featured our Summer Samba and had such bright and fun colors!!!  These photos are of our youngest last year when he was 2.  They grow so so fast!!!

The kit included so many super cool die cut shapes to work with!  I used the white scalloped square die cut and I cut an end to layer under my papers.  I also cut the sun apart from one of the provided cuts and thought it would be fun to layer over the yellow here.  I embellished it with a flourish acetate piece and a wooden button from my stash.

I absolutely LOVE our Frosted Flourishes!  They add such a nice soft feel to a project and can help show some movement.  To add to the fun here I attached my yellow paper with a few segments of zig zag stitching.

The Itty Bitty Vellum quote that I used here felt just perfect for the page!  I used a scrap piece of black card stock and a rectangle Spellbinders die to create a very simple frame.  The black coordinated nicely with my photo mats.

Did You Know?

Happy Thursday!  Did you know that Quick Quotes makes more than just vellum quotes?  It's true! Check out this amazingly beautiful line that I got to create with!!!

It's called Julie Je T'aime and it was the absolute perfect match to a photo I received.

I created this project as a graduation gift for my cousin's daughter. When we received her graduation announcement, the photo was matted in these exact colors. I find this collection to be SO absolutely beautiful!  This project was framed and presented to her at the reception.

A detail photo for you.  I layered my Cricut cut flourishes with our Frosted Flourishes and also added in the flowers and vines.  The i-top coordinating brad that was used on the left flower, I added some Rock Candy stickles to it for some texture.

Techniques Used:
  • To compliment the fun and funky feel of the papers, I matted the photo in angles using a touch of coordinating solid cardstock, stitching the mats in black thread for interest.
  • Have you seen our Frosted Flourishes? They are stunning! I used two of them to frame the photo. To add more elegance and layers, I cut a few more flourishes from the papers using my Cricut and the Cricut Storybook Cartridge.
  • I created a sentiment frame using my Cricut Expression and the George & Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge.
  • For the flowers, I used the Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge and cut three sizes, inked and assembled. To give dimension to the flowers, I use a small wooden skewer to curl the floral petals.
  • Powder Puff Chalk Inks used: Mocha Mama, Tahiti, and Purple Passion
Tools Used:
Large Border Punch and Butterfly Punches, Martha Stewart
Floral Punch, Fiskars
Smaller Daisy Punch, EK Success
