You Are So Loved with Quick Quotes

Happy Monday to you! I'm up over at Quick Quotes today and am sharing a bit inspiration to help 'perk' you up after Daylight Savings time.

I used a variety of PowderPuff Chalk Inks to edge the die cut pieces on my card. I selected the papers as they had a nice Spring feel to them. The sentiment is stamped in Cool Gray PowderPuff Chalk Ink and if you don't have it, definitely put it on your list!

The coffee ring image is stamped with one of our 2018 PowderPuff Chalk Ink colors, Kokomo. To accent the design, I added some additional die cut pieces from my stash.

Perking You Up with Quick Quotes

Happy Friday to you!

It was my turn yesterday over on the Quick Quotes blog to share a project. I created a fun card featuring the new Chiffon collection and some of our new 2016 PowderPuff Chalk Inks.

Perk You Up Card featuring Chiffon collection and 2016 PowderPuff Chalk Inks by Quick Quotes designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

The Chiffon collection has some very pretty soft mocha colors which reminded me of a Latte, so I used a few coffee accents here for fun.

I used Light Moss PowderPuff Chalk Ink to ink the edge of my green layer and stamped my sentiment with Milk Chocolate and the Mahogany for the steam. Seabrook was used to ink the sentiment layer.

Quick Quotes Products Used:

Hello Friend with DCWV

Happy Sunday to you!

How's your weekend going? We have had a bunch of fun with soccer games and birthday parties here. I thought I'd take a few minutes to share a card that I created in between all of the action.

Papers here are from the "Happy Day Stack" from DCWV. The colors and theme of the stack are so elegant and pretty. You can see the pretty gold foil accents here too.

C'est Magnifique Guest Designer Part II for September

Tuesday greetings, I'm super excited to be hosting the blog on over at C'est Magnifique today as a Guest Designer with Part II of my September projects. I am featuring designs using the C'est Magnifique September 2015 Card Kit which includes Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Authentique papers.

"This Life is Pretty Wonderful" (12x12 Page)

I love the elements in the Card Kit so much, I also had a few extra goodies to include from the Embellishment Add-On Kit as well as the black flower from the Flower Add-On September 2015 Kit. I started this page inspired by the green card base which I used to mat my photo collage, along with some simple black cardstock.

I loved the idea of mixing this strong chevron design with some florals. I used a sheet of kraft card stock from home, then used crackle modeling paste and a stencil. I added the small gold glitter paste stars using a stencil. You will also see a few wood veneer stars mixed in which I lightly touched with Gold Glimmer Spray to blend in.

Some Gelatos were used in 4 different colors, and just smeared in to blend. After that, I sprinkled drops of Glimmer Spray about in coordinating colors to the pattern papers. I stamped using some of my BoBunny stamps and black ink.

The blue banner and pink arrow and sequin elements are from the Embellishment Add On Kit. I added the string and pearl along with the ink for coloring the "Hello" speech bubble. The partial tag I cut using a simple tag die.

"Hello Sunshine" Tag

For my next project, I created a tag to fit the cute pink polka dot envelope that comes in the kit. I've used the Prima Doll Stamp included in the kit as my focal point. She is colored with Copics and paper pieced.

I've used a scrap from one of my first projects on this. In the background you should see a frame and behind it I've backed it with the black and white ampersand. This was a really fun project to do, I love using these doll stamps, the possibilities are endless!

I added some Diamond Stickles to accent the bodice florals as well as the top of the skirt. The paper piecing that I did with her hair is from a woodgrain pattern paper included in the kit. I highlighted some of the hair design with my marker.

The headband, bodice and florals on her shoes all coordinate to the same patterned paper. To accent the headband, I added a single sequin and an Enamel Dot.

Here's the coordinating envelope. I added a few simple touches and love how it fits perfectly!

For this project I used a Prima Tag Pad from my own collection of items for the base, then added other papers and embellishments to it.

"Hello" (A2 sized card)

This card showcases another one of the beautiful designed card bases included in the kit. I decided to layer over the florals lightly with a few other pieces.

The "Hello" sentiment flag was cut from the pattern papers in the kit. I cut one of the vellum hearts in half and used for "leaves" under the flower cluster on the left. To create this look, I used a few of my MFT dies and my die cutting machine.

Are you loving the projects you've been seeing? If so, be sure to check out the C'est Magnifique Store to get your very own September 2015 Card Kit today!

If you love those enamel dots, wood veneers, die cuts, sweet bows and arrows, be sure to check out the Embellishment Add-On Kit while you're there. There is also a Flower Add-On September 2015 Kit if you crave some flowers for your projects.

Thank you to C'est Magnifique Kit Club for inviting me Guest Design again with you this month. I loved working with these beautiful papers and goodies!

C'est Magnifique September Card Kit

Greetings, I'm hosting the blog today over at C'est Magnifique Kit Club featuring designs using the C'est Magnifique September 2015 Card Kit. The kit features papers by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Authentique.

"Love This"

For my first card, I loved the variety of card bases that are included in the kit and wanted to feature this pretty soft rose first.

I used the pretty colors in the Authentique Classique paper to compliment the pink and framed it with some filmstrip die cuts using black cardstock from my stash.

I've used the pretty sequins and enamel dots here from the Embellishment Add-On for September Kit. The stamping on the background was done with a stamp from my personal collection.

"Life's a party, Enjoy it"

For my next card, I wanted to feature the pretty wooden frame that is included with the kit. I've paired it with a Pink Paislee gray flower from the Flower Add-On September 2015 Kit.

Don't you just love the sentiment? I thought it was so cute! I added the metal arrow from the Embellishment Add-On for September Kit.

"Just Lovely"

This card was inspired by the card base design, it is so cute all on its own. I didn't want to cover the design, but chose to accent it and build on it.

I did a die-cut from the patterned paper, then added some embellishments from the Embellishment Add-On Kit; Die-Cuts, Wooden Pieces and Arrow.

"Happy Day... these are the moments to remember forever"

For this card, again I've used one of the cute card bases included in the kit. I paired it with some of the pale pink cardstock and used one of the sentiment blocks from the patterned papers included in the kit.

Be sure to check out the C'est Magnifique Store to get your very own September 2015 Card Kit today! If you love those enamel dots, wood veneers, die cuts, sweet bows and arrows, be sure to check out the Embellishment Add-On Kit while you're there. There is also a Flower Add-On September 2015 Kit if you really love flowers for your projects.

C'est Magnifique, thank you so much for having me back again as a Guest Designer - it's always a treat designing with these gorgeous kits! I will be back again soon to share a few more projects with you using the September 2015 Card Kit.

So Fun with DCWV!

Happy Monday to you! I have a project to share with you today featuring the "Marquee Stack" from Die Cuts with a View.

"So Fun..  Expo" (12 x 12 Page)

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Scrappity Dappity Doo!. I do receive financial compensation and products from DCWV to develop certain blog posts, but all of the ideas and opinions noted are my own.

I recently attended the Scrapbook Expo in Saint Paul, MN. It's a fun event and for that day, I was able to meet up with some friends and goof around a bit which was a nice relaxing break. Sometimes we forget to capture the everyday and a bit about ourselves, so that is what this page is all about.

The Marquee Stack was a perfect match to my photo and the page. The title work here is done from the stack. I used some of my dies to create the tag, torn paper, banner and flourish. The "Expo" title was cut from the pattern paper in the stack.

There are such pretty glitter accents in this stack, you can see it on the tickets that I cut out by hand and on the flourish die cut too. To contrast this, I layered some vellum into the design, then added a few sequins, gems and arrows.

This project is also inspired by our August Stack-a-holic Challenge. This challenge ends today, so if you hurry, you can still play along! I turned the sketch and switched it up a bit. Here is the sketch:

June Guest Designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club!

Greetings and happy Tuesday to you! I've been keeping a little secret and I am excited to share with you that I'm a guest designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club for the month of June!

The June Kit is just beautiful featuring some a lovely new paper collection by Blue Fern Studios, "Déjà Vu" and I had so much fun creating the projects that I am sharing with you today!

My first card showcases the pretty Maya Road Scallop Trim in Antique Pink along with the Prima Gypsy Roses in Frost. The Déjà Vu papers are so very pretty I used some of my lacy dies to create this first card.

I just love the vintage image and used it for my focal point.

My next card makes use of the sentiment banner from the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Petites Cartes paper included in the kit. I've included some fussy cutting on this along with the Prima Rebecca Mini Bouquet.

The flower that I've die-cut from the papers is accented with the C'est Magnifique Fairy Frost Glitter in the center. A few other accents on the other flowers on the card have it also. I've cut the leaves apart and tucked them in behind my flower and banner to add a pop of pretty green.

I wanted to create a masculine card for some Father's Day inspiration and this was my end result. I added some gesso to the ribbon to soften the color and give it a shabby chic appearance. While I had it out I also coated the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Dangles and then touched it lightly with sage green and lavender inks.

The Prima Alphablends Cardstock and Chipboard Alphabet Stickers in yellow were used for my sentiment here, and I outlined them with a black journaling pen.

For my last card, I went a little bit more simple in the design, just letting the beauty of the papers shine.  I again used the sentiment paper from the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Petites Cartes sheet, and collaged with some fussy cut elements.

I added one die-cut element which I cut apart. I then used the relief of my die-cut as part of the monochromatic design on the left. I think this would make a very romantic wedding or anniversary card.  A bit of zigzag stitching finished the card.

For my final project for this post today, I created a sweet little gift box using the Paper House Colorways Seek Beauty Rub-On Transfers for my sentiment banner. I added a floral collage on top of a pretty doily die-cut to complete the decorations. The grey flower is ready to add from the kit and the others are cut from floral dies I have.

Designer's Tip:
After creating the box, I flip mine upside down so the tabs to open it are on the bottom, that way the decor on the top stays in place and your box can be re-purposed if desired.

A Vintage Page with UmWowStudio

Greetings, I was recently up on the UmWowStudio blog with a project to share.

I've been wanting to scrap this photo of my father and his sister for the longest time. When I found it again going through photos the other day, I really wanted to celebrate it.  There aren't a ton of photos of my Dad from his youth, so these are very special to our family.

I used some papers with a sepia type of feel to them. Once I selected my papers, I chose my chipboard embellishments that would fit the feel of the page. The Doilies chip was covered in a chocolate pearlescent product.  The Soar Tab was coated in gesso, then touched with a variety of pearlescent product to give a variegated feeling and match the photo.

Don't you just love those doilies?!!!

A bit of background stamping and ink droplets with a bit of cheesecloth helped pull the page together.  When I was done stamping, I added bits of Mica to the areas to create a bit of shine and texture.

August Sketch Inspiration with UmWowStudio

Hi there!  I was recently up on the UmWowStudio blog and wanted to share my project here too. Did you know that UmWowStudio has monthly sketches?

Here is my take on the new fabulous August sketch.

Here's what I did with it:

I loved the design and stayed pretty close to it. You'll see a variety of UmWowStudio products on my page. One of my favorites, the Doilies was my starting point, along with the Damask Mask.  I base coated the doily in a pretty cream paint and then touched some Inka Gold for a bit of shimmer.

The sentiment flair was perfect to accent my photo here. On our recent vacation I was able to snap a few sweet candid shots. A love speech bubble was inked with a rainbow ink pad, then rubbed with some more Inka Gold to keep the bit of shimmer.

A few more layers were added with the Soar Tag which I stamped and embossed, then wasn't so happy with the look, so I painted over it. This gave the perfect texture and I left it. A Layered Arrow was coated with a Pearl Pen in Opal.

I had such a wonderful time working with the sketch and our products, I really hope you'll find some time and play along. For all of the details on our August Sketch, check out this post
