Vintage Themed Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

Monday greetings to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs!

I have a vintage themed card to share with you today as it's one of my favorite style of card. There are several layers of our stackers as you can see, from our A2 Frames in Classic and Scalloped to the Coved Rectangles in Classic and Scalloped.

The Alpine Flourish Doily was the perfect size to layer into the design here. You can also hopefully see the subtle hint of snowflakes which are cut from vellum here.

Since the vintage image I've used includes thread spools in it, I used a tiny wooden one I had found in my local craft store. It is wrapped with a cut from one of our Tiny Expandable Borders and secured with glue.  I then used it with a stick pin for an embellishment with my florals.

Details of the floral cluster.

I finished the interior of my card simply with our new Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker, then cut it again using the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped die to create the border. The Thank You #2 was added as the final step.

Vintage Noel Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I have a holiday themed card to share with you today created in a more neutral color scheme. The new release has beautiful holiday sentiments and this card features the all new "Noel" die.

"Noel" (A2 size card)

I used one of the Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stackers as part of my base. On top of this, I've adhered two cuts of the Tree Blowing In The Wind and adhered them on the horizontal in position.

The Oval Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker is layered on top of it using Foam Adhesive for dimension.  You'll see that the tree peeks out and creates a framed shape. Noel is cut and adhered next.

To accent the sentiment, I've used our Tea Roses in Medium and Small. Cut a Holly Flourish in neutral paper, then cut it apart to tuck it in among my florals.

I've misted my flowers with gold shimmer mist. The Lace Corner Deco 2 was cut twice and adhered on the top ad bottom, then accented with pearl gems in a neutral color.

Another image to show texture:

August Sketch Inspiration with UmWowStudio

Hi there!  I was recently up on the UmWowStudio blog and wanted to share my project here too. Did you know that UmWowStudio has monthly sketches?

Here is my take on the new fabulous August sketch.

Here's what I did with it:

I loved the design and stayed pretty close to it. You'll see a variety of UmWowStudio products on my page. One of my favorites, the Doilies was my starting point, along with the Damask Mask.  I base coated the doily in a pretty cream paint and then touched some Inka Gold for a bit of shimmer.

The sentiment flair was perfect to accent my photo here. On our recent vacation I was able to snap a few sweet candid shots. A love speech bubble was inked with a rainbow ink pad, then rubbed with some more Inka Gold to keep the bit of shimmer.

A few more layers were added with the Soar Tag which I stamped and embossed, then wasn't so happy with the look, so I painted over it. This gave the perfect texture and I left it. A Layered Arrow was coated with a Pearl Pen in Opal.

I had such a wonderful time working with the sketch and our products, I really hope you'll find some time and play along. For all of the details on our August Sketch, check out this post

Romantic Steampunk with Cheery Lynn Designs

Monday greetings to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today.

I decided to feature our steampunk Pocket Watch and put a little feminine twist on it today.  I've used several of our stackers here including some of my favorite pretty Horizon Boutique shapes as well.

My shasta daisy, cherry blossom and darling daisies were lightly misted and then gently crumpled to provide a little texture and interest.

I cut apart a branch and arranged the leaves around my miniature rose in the center of the pocket watch. A few pretty gems and stick pins were the finishing touches.

My Sweet Story with UmWow Studio

Happy Thursday to you!  I have a fun project to share with you today.  It's my very first project for UmWow Studio. I am super excited to be a part of this very talented team!!!

I was inspired by the Hexagon Background for my page. To begin, I coated it in clear gesso and then misted it with some Moon Shadow Mist, then sprinkled it randomly while wet with Pepper embossing Powder and applied heat to activate the embossing.

Once it dried completely, I flipped it over and used it as a mask to mist onto my background paper. I used TiffanyLou Blue and then set aside to dry.

I selected the Mini Polaroid with a heart relief and colored it with Whale Watch Blue. The heart was later colored in with a Blue Metallic artist pen. The Layered Clouds were misted with Splash Chalkboard mist and Whale Watch Blue. Once dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the layered cloud on the right.

Additional embellishments of enamel dots and sequins helped finish the page. The star theme of my "Life is Good" flair is one of my favorite elements on the page.

Vintage Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday crafty peeps!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today.

My card today features several of our stacker dies and a bit of a soft vintage design. I started by selecting my French Flair shape, and layered a Dutch Scalloped Square at an angle behind it. This really changed the shape and I loved the look of it together.

"Thinking Of You"

My next layer is the French Flair Doily Stacker which is cut in a soft gray plain card stock and adhered with foam squares. I added a touch of cheesecloth on top to give a bit of texture.

I finished the card with my Scalloped Coved Rectangle and Coved Rectangle layers featuring the sweet vintage image. These are attached with foam dots as well. The Add a Flourish is tucked in and tacked down with a bit of Glossy Accents. Sentiment Frame #2 is used to showcase the sentiment.

Happy, Happy, Happy with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday crafty friends! It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today.

Today's card features the Pretty Pretty Bows (Set of 2) dies along with the Tags 2 for my sentiment.

"Happy, Happy, Happy" (4x8 Card)

The base of my card is an 8x8 piece of pattern paper, folded in half. I then cut a layer of vellum at 3.75 x 7.75 and adhered in the center. Next, I added a bit of cheesecloth and trimmed to fit the layers.

I trimmed a piece of pattern paper to fit under my Butterflies Flying Among the Vines Mesh Border, then attached by touching some Glossy Accents on the butterflies to secure, then I tacked down the border with a small amount in random areas.

The Francesca border strips were adhered on either side of the Butterflies Border Strip, then trimmed to fit. I used foam squares for some dimension of my center panel.

You could add gems to really dress this up or leave as is for a more gender neutral card.

April New Release for Cheery Lynn Designs!

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps!  It's an exciting day over at the Cheery Lynn Designs store and blog today, the April new release reveal is finally here!!!

My aunt and uncle recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and I thought it would be fun to use their photo along with an assortment of the pretty new dies for my project.

"We Still Do" 8x8 Page

I started by cutting the Southern Charm Valance and Steampunk Corners out of cereal box chipboard. They were coated with white gesso and inked with soft grey chalk ink. The Margarita Border worked nicely as an anchor for the bottom of my page.

The beautiful new Horizon Fishtail Banners make their appearance peeking out from under my Coved Rectangle cut along with a bit of the Double Edge Border. I folded down one corner of my Coved Rectangle for interest and texture, then stitched a few various places.

The Beautiful Bell Doily peeks out from my photo along with the very elegant new Add a Flourish. I've used the new Branches tucked in here and there.  The flowers here are all brand new too! Tea Rose Small and Medium are anchored on either side of the bottom. Sweet Christine's are smaller and darker papers with pearls in the centers. Gardenia Small is on the upper right.

Decorative trim was placed on the upper right corner of the page using one of our new Arrows, on top of some Double Scalloped Border which was trimmed and scraps from one of my Horizon Fishtail Banners.

These new dies are simply fantastic, be sure to visit the blog to see some fantastic inspiration featuring more of our new dies!!!
