Travel Journal featuring BoBunny Down By The Sea

Crafty greetings to you! It's time for a bit of fun with mixed media and BoBunny today. I've created a Travel Journal featuring the Down By The Sea collection.

BoBunny Travel Journal featuring Down By The Sea designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

This travel journal features Gold Confetti Paste, Stamping, Stencils with Silver Glitter Paste, Pearlescents and some Pentart 3D Balls make an appearance as well. The coordinating accents include Chipboard, Noteworthy and some of the DoubleDot Jewels for accent.

BoBunny Travel Journal featuring Down By The Sea designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

I love the subtle sparkle that the Gold Confetti Paste adds. I also stamped lightly and then splattered a touch of Gold Glimmer Spray. To color the Pentart 3D Balls, they were placed into a small zipper plastic baggie, added a tiny amount of Chocolate and Sugar Pearlescents and rolled them until I had the color I wanted. I then laid them out to dry.

The finishing touches were some drops of Pearlescents added here and there to create more texture. They were also placed into the cheese cloth. I hope you've enjoyed my little travel journal.

June BoBunny Inspiration

Greetings crafty friends!

I have a fun card to share with you today featuring the vibrant Beach Therapy collection. When I look at my collections, I try to find a way to spin the theme to work for other uses. I thought the "Welcome Aboard" sentiment within the Noteworthy package would make for a cute card.

To create my design, I selected the neutral base from the Adventure paper. Next, I trimmed a layer from the Foil Vellum. A few more die cuts using Picture This and the Nested Terrific Tags.

Once arranged, I brought in a collage from the Noteworthy package, arranging the sentiment with a few florals on top. Some foam adhesive was used to provide a bit of dimension and allow space for the toucan to perch on top.

December BoBunny Inspiration

Greetings and Happy New Years Eve to you!

I have a versatile home decor/picture frame project to share with you today featuring the Whiteout and Sleigh Ride collections from BoBunny. The frame shown here is a simple 4x6 wooden frame that I base coated with black acrylic paint.

My favorite Whiteout glittered patterned paper is adhered to the frame with Mod Podge. Once dry, the edges are sanded.

To accent the top of the frame opening, I chose the Noteworthy banner, trimmed to fit and attached with dimensional foam. I then added a Noteworthy paper tab behind it and layered a chipboard tab piece on top to accent it.

To the left bottom corner, I added the snowflake layered chipboard cluster and the tree on the right is added with foam dimensionals, using the small star as the tree trunk. A Jewel Flourish is trimmed apart and used to accent the tree.

This project was really fun to create and the focal point makes it perfect as a gift to give for home decor, while serving a dual purpose. The center panel can also be swapped out to showcase your favorite photo as well.

Happiness and Loving Life with BoBunny

Sunday greetings to you!

I've got a fun project to share with you today featuring the Genevieve collection by BoBunny.  The inspiration for this project was driven solely from the photo.

One day when we were visiting a local scrapbook store, the owner's son let my youngest try on his football gear. I'm so glad I snapped a few photos of him - he just loves to look at them!

"Happiness and Loving Life"

I've used a few pieces to replicate "grid iron" here, do you catch it? : )  Ok, I will stop with the puns and innuendo, but it's pretty fun! For the borders and striped papers, I pulled out my very dusty punches. You'll see some Frost Glitter Paste in the background along with drops of Glimmer Spray in Gold.

A few additional chipboard accents, buttons and Gold Foil Accent rub-ons pulled this page together along with my very favorite Noteworthy elements. A bit of humor is added in with the "Let's Party" sentiment from the You're Invited collection.

This collection is wonderfully versatile! I adore the color combinations and the design elements can be used from feminine to masculine so easily.

The inspiration for my page was this sweet photo of my oldest son who decided to surprise me the other morning and I captured this quick photo of him. I thought it was too sweet.

I challenged myself to use pink on this page. As I added more of the elements it just really worked out so nicely. I love how versatile the collection is, it's not just for invitations.

Wonder and Penny Emporium

Happy Monday to you! I've got a BoBunny project to share with you featuring the very pretty collection called "Penny Emporium". It has a wonderful steampunk vintage flavor to it which is perfect for these photos that I took recently on vacation.

"Wonder"

We recently toured the "The House on the Rock" in Spring Green, Wisconsin. It's an amazing place and takes quite some time (3.5 hours), but it is by far the most creative, incredible example of imagination and wonderful design that I've ever had the pleasure to visit. So many things just simply take your breath away just in scale and the sheer idea of it. These clock gears are one of the many items.

I've used our Clockwork Wood Shapes as the background anchor of the design. It's been sprayed with Bronze Glimmer spray. You'll also see one of the clock hands on the lower left which was touched lightly to still show the texture and design.

To keep with the playful nature of the images and the page, I stitched randomly to my photo mats and trimmed the tails loose, then left them in place for texture.

The Laser Cut Chipboard Tag was coated with some gesso, then misted with Sugar Glimmer Spray.

I used the current BoBunny sketch for our July Challenge to inspire this project. We would love to have you join us too!

June Cards with BoBunny!

Happy Monday to you!

I have a few cards to share with you today featuring the newest BoBunny collections, Penny Emporium and Juliet. I love how pretty both of these collections are, they are really so much fun to work with!

"Find Adventure!"

For my first card, I chose Penny Emporium and the elegant charcoal, cream and gold tones really inspired me. I also adore the vintage images in the collection, perfect for those romantic extra touches!

Patterned Paper: Imagination, Alphabet and Wind Up / Penny Emporium
Double Dot Cardstock: Chiffon Dot
Buttons: Penny Emporium
Sticker: Combo Sticker  / Penny Emporium
Jewel Flourishes: Glaze

"Congratulations 2015!"

For this card, I wanted to create a graduation card. After I saw the sheet of Abundance pattern paper, I thought it would be so cute to cut out the numbers for 2015 and make a pretty graduation card. It's a little unconventional, but I love it!

I used the 3 x 4 Lattice Frame Die to create my focal point block, then added a layered chipboard element and a brad that I turned so it would resemble the shape of a graduation cap.

The Combo Stickers are always such a great addition to our collections, here I've used them to personalize my card with the graduate's name.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Abundance, Amore, Full House, Soulmate, Nostalgia and Verona / Juliet
6x6 Paper Pad: Juliet
Sticker: Combo Sticker  / Juliet

June Guest Designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club!

Greetings and happy Tuesday to you! I've been keeping a little secret and I am excited to share with you that I'm a guest designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club for the month of June!

The June Kit is just beautiful featuring some a lovely new paper collection by Blue Fern Studios, "Déjà Vu" and I had so much fun creating the projects that I am sharing with you today!

My first card showcases the pretty Maya Road Scallop Trim in Antique Pink along with the Prima Gypsy Roses in Frost. The Déjà Vu papers are so very pretty I used some of my lacy dies to create this first card.

I just love the vintage image and used it for my focal point.

My next card makes use of the sentiment banner from the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Petites Cartes paper included in the kit. I've included some fussy cutting on this along with the Prima Rebecca Mini Bouquet.

The flower that I've die-cut from the papers is accented with the C'est Magnifique Fairy Frost Glitter in the center. A few other accents on the other flowers on the card have it also. I've cut the leaves apart and tucked them in behind my flower and banner to add a pop of pretty green.

I wanted to create a masculine card for some Father's Day inspiration and this was my end result. I added some gesso to the ribbon to soften the color and give it a shabby chic appearance. While I had it out I also coated the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Dangles and then touched it lightly with sage green and lavender inks.

The Prima Alphablends Cardstock and Chipboard Alphabet Stickers in yellow were used for my sentiment here, and I outlined them with a black journaling pen.

For my last card, I went a little bit more simple in the design, just letting the beauty of the papers shine.  I again used the sentiment paper from the Blue Fern Studios Déjà Vu Petites Cartes sheet, and collaged with some fussy cut elements.

I added one die-cut element which I cut apart. I then used the relief of my die-cut as part of the monochromatic design on the left. I think this would make a very romantic wedding or anniversary card.  A bit of zigzag stitching finished the card.

For my final project for this post today, I created a sweet little gift box using the Paper House Colorways Seek Beauty Rub-On Transfers for my sentiment banner. I added a floral collage on top of a pretty doily die-cut to complete the decorations. The grey flower is ready to add from the kit and the others are cut from floral dies I have.

Designer's Tip:
After creating the box, I flip mine upside down so the tabs to open it are on the bottom, that way the decor on the top stays in place and your box can be re-purposed if desired.

May Sketch Challenge with BoBunny!

Happy Tuesday to you!

Have you seen the BoBunny Sketch Challenge for May? I'm super excited to share with you my take on the sketch and remind you there is still time to play along!

"Sideshow"

My project today features our fantastic Alphabet Silver Foil Rubons. Not only are they beautiful to use for your title work, they can also add that extra accent as well. The collection I'm using is called Carnival. The photo is of our dog, Radar who was decorated during nap time by our youngest, who was busy playing instead of actually napping with the dog.

The layers and circles in the sketch design make it easy to use multiple photos or just one. Here I've used a variety of circles, some are punched and some are the layered chipboard, chipboard or brads.

I built the background two layers first. Next, I worked on the collage pieces of the layers separately, tacking them together with small amounts of adhesive as I went.

Once I was happy with the placement, then I added my Alphabet Silver Foil Rubons to create the title and accents. Next the collage is adhered and machine stitched to ensure it's secure and my accent Rubons. Then I covered the design with scrap papers and dropped splatters of coordinating Glimmer Spray to accent the design.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper:  Cotton Candy, Carnival Tickets, Potions, Big Top, Sideshow, Spectator and Balancing Act / Carnival
6x6 Paper Pad: Carnival
Chipboard: Carnival Chipboard, Carnival Layered Chipboard

Brads: Carnival
Glimmer Spray: Frost, Sugar and Gold
Ink: Licorice
Rubons: Alphabet Silver Foil

Don't forget, there are still several days left to play along with the challenge. Check out all of the details right here.

Family Zoo Sign with BoBunny

Happy Monday to you!

I have a fun off the page project to share with you today featuring some all new products from BoBunny! The base for this project is a $3 dollar spot find at Target. I used the Safari collection to design this project along with our new Metallic Rubons.

"The Van Ginkel Zoo" - Chalkboard Sign

I thought it would be fun to create a custom sign for our front door using the new Gold Foil Metallic Rubons. They are so versatile and elegant.

The "zoo" letters are included in the 6x12 chipboard, I used them on top of the 12" film strip here. An addition of one of the buttons with some gold metallic string added just a bit of texture. You can also see where I've used the Gold Foil Metallic Rubons from the Filagree set and used the stitch marks on the frame.

BoBunny Projects to Share

Happy Sunday to you!

I just wanted to share a few BoBunny projects that I have created recently. I've been so busy I just realized they had not been shared on my blog yet. First up are a few cards that I had up on the BoBunny Blog a little while ago.

"Seize the Day" (A2 Size)
Seize The Day Card Featuring Star-Crossed Collection for BoBunny by Rhonda Van Ginkel

I was so excited to work with our Star-Crossed collection, it's really such a fun combination of romantic and timeless elements!  For my first card I started with the Bliss Stickable Stencil in a doily pattern, then used our Copper Glitter Paste with it. After that, I splattered some Bronze and Sugar Glimmer Spray randomly.

Next, I cut a few doilies from some dies, then layered the Postcard Layered Chipboard on top.  The sentiment tab and arrow are from the Noteworthy pack. I really liked the Wood tab, so I added it.  To create this look, I used Gold Glimmer Spray, then on top I added Pearlescent Island Mist.

Once dry, I stamped the flourish with my Licorice ink. To emphasize the pattern on top, I used a fine brush and our Mint Glimmer Spray and painted in the stripes. It is a subtle effect, but you can see how it mimics the strips on the packaging that I've used on the interior of the card.
