Kiss and Adore with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Monday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Today I have chose a softer pretty color scheme and romantic theme (suitable for Valentine's Day) for my project.  I cut the Fanciful Flourish from a cereal box chipboard, then painted it with Gesso, embossed and inked it for a shabby chic feel.

The floral cluster features the Cuties flowers 2 and 3.  They are so much fun to create!

The papers used here are from Crate Paper and the collection is called "Love Notes".  Lucky me, our local scrapbook store gave away some samples to a few shoppers one day!  I also used some Pink Cheeks and Tahiti PowderPuff Chalk Inks here.  The pearl strand is leftover scraps of Prima.  The center brad is BoBunny.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
French Flair Scalloped LG Stackers - XL13
Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames - DL271
French Flair Classic Silver Stackers - L12
Eastern Star Doily with Angel Wing - DL230

I hope you take some time to play along with our new challenge "Winter Whites"!  You could be a winner of a $20 gift certificate to the Cheery Lynn Designs online store just for playing along.  Get all of the details here.

Did you know that there's also an amazing New Year's Celebration giveaway going on right here for an eBosser? You definitely need to check that out here!!!

Thanks so much for stopping on over today, have a wonderful Monday!

I'm so excited to share this card with you!  Here is the sketch that Karan did over at Cardabilities.  Isn't it fun?

I had such a great time creating this one using the Brook line by Crate Paper from our May featured kit over at Life Preservers. This project has a special place in my heart, it just makes me feel happy looking at it.
I can't wait to see what you create with this fabulous sketch.  Be sure to link up over at the Cardabilities blog so we can see your creation and leave you some love!  Thanks so much for stopping on over and have a super scrappity day!!!

Family Time!

Happy Sunday to you!  I thought I would take a quick moment to share with you my latest creation that I made with the May Featured kit from Life Preservers.

We had an absolute challenge getting these family photos done.  Both kids were running every which way, not really too interested in sitting in one place for more than a millisecond!  About 2 minutes into the adventure, the little baby poked Daddy in the eye so badly he could not see for about 10 minutes.  You get the idea I'm sure!  I'm so thankful that we hung in there and tried for a few more photos.  ***grin***

In the end it was a beautiful day and at least we managed to get one family photo.

I found the cutest border punch by Martha Stewart called Branches, and to me, it just worked with this line by Crate Paper.  The floral spray is of course, Prima!  I used some Maya Road Latte Metallic Mist on here too and the ruffled ribbon I found in the Life Preserver's store.

Thank you so much for stopping on by, have a super scrappity day!!!

Life Preservers + Sketch Inspirations = 1 Yummy Prize!

Did you know?  Life Preserver's Club is sponsoring Sketch Inspiration this week, how exciting!  As part of this collaborative effort, our Design Team was asked to create a layout using this weeks sketch. I had such a great time with it and I know that you will too!  Don't forget to play along, the prize is a super yummy gift certificate to the LP Store in the amount of a Mega Kit.  Now that is one awesome prize!!!

Here's the new Sunday sketch for this week:
I have been so excited to dig into my May Featured kit with all the beautiful Crate Papers and My Mind's Eye goodness and this was just the opportunity!  Here is what I did with the sketch. The smirky 5x7 photo is by Portrait Innovations. : )   "Member of the All Boy's Club"

I used a Jenni Bowlin diecut and traced the shape onto this paper, then hand stitched it. The photo is pop dot mounted to allow for some room for the ribbon and a journaling card. I stitched my ribbon by machine and scrunched it as I went. Since I used white thread, I decided to hide the stitch marks with the ric-rak.

I used my trusty Helmar zap dots in white and clear on the word "Member" so I could obtain a variety of depths. I also used my Helmar 450 on the flowers. Next, I dug out my lonely Dymo labeler and corner rounder (thanks to Laura-Lee and Jodi for the inspiration!). The sketch was a lot of fun and I just love how the colors in the kit worked so well with this photo!
Non kit items used:
- 2 Prima Flowers
- Thickers
- Mini Alphas by MLS
- Thread
- McGill folder punch
- Dymo Labeler
- Corner Chomper
- Ric-rak

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch!  As always, thank you so much for stopping on over!!!
