Springtime Layers with Cheery Lynn Designs

Greetings and happy Thursday to you!  It's my day to host the blog over at Cheery Lynn Designs today.

I have a creation today inspired by our current challenge theme of Doilies. The color scheme here is a nod toward Spring. I've also featured one of our pretty flower dies, the Black Eyed Susan Strip.

"Thank You"
Coved Rectangle Card for Cheery Lynn Designs by Rhonda Van Ginkel

The base of my card was created using the Coved Rectangle Silver Stacker on the fold of my paper. By placing the fold of my paper just inside of the die, it created my base card shape.

The next layers are the Coved Rectangle Scalloped - LG in a woodgrain paper, followed by the Horizon Boutique Coved Rectangle which is attached with foam dimensional. On top of that, I placed the Alpine Flourish Doily in pink followed by the Coved Rectangle Classic which was also attached with foam dimensionals.

The next layer is cut from the Card Maker Rectangle Classic, with the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker cut from the interior. On top of this you find the two layers of Horizon Fishtail Banners nested under the Scalloped Circle and Circle Classic dies.

The flower here is the Black Eyed Susan Strip and for the leaves, I chose the Flourish Leaf Strip as well as a few leaves from the Tea Rose Medium. The Sentiment Frame #1 and Add A Flourish along with a few gems completed the card. I adhered a bit of gold string under the sentiment as well.

Blessed is the Season

Happy Monday crafty friends!  It's my day to share a project over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog today.

My card for today features some of my favorite stackers, the coved rectangle and a scalloped french flair! I actually was working with a bag of my scrap cuts from various projects. Sometimes when I cut something and think I will use it, I change my mind. I save each and every one of these in a goody bag for a future project.

"Blessed" (A2 sized card)

I started with my coved rectangle, added the fence, then layered my tiny doily and scalloped french flair for the sentiment.  It was adhered with pop dots so I could layer in the leaves and flourishes.

Some details...

Mini Album Inspiration with Pretty Little Studio

Happy Thursday crafty peeps!  I've got a fun Pretty Little Studio project to share with you today.

Do you like to create mini albums?  I always love to make them and sometimes I need a tiny bit of inspiration to get started.  Are you like that too?

The starting inspiration for my project today was a ticket shaped die.  If you don't have one of these, you could also easily use 4x6 sized pages with a 3.5 x 5.5 layer on them for a similar layered feel.

How to begin?  I take all of my coordinating packages and lay them all out in front of me.  I look at my base papers and colors and find elements that will be great to repeat in the album.

You'll see that I used the Nature Trail Note Strips for my cover.  I also used the Picture Cards to echo the same style through the album.

I've used the top packing sheet of the 6x6 paper pack for my cover.

I've also used the Vintage Die Cuts and Paper Feather Die Cuts on a few pages as well. Repeating similar elements keeps the feel cohesive. Some sequins and a touch of bling helped finish the album cover nicely.

Small holes were punched and I tied some thin waxed string to bind the book and curled the ends.
