All Star Catch!

I don't know about you, but I'm not what you would call a fast or quick scrapper.  It isn't very often when a project just comes together for me rapidly, but when it does boy is it a great feeling!  That is what happened when I started working with my June alternate kit from Life Preserver's.  It has these amazing Paper Loft "Dude" papers and coordinating embellishments from Little Yellow Bicycle.

When I saw these fun papers I had several photos in mind that I thought would be just perfect for the men in my life.  Here are a few recent favorite snapshots of our oldest son playing catch with Daddy.  I also had to add in my Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon that I'd been dying to use.  Hint...   Helmar's Gemstone Glue is absolutely perfect to attach this invisibly to your project.

I also used this project for my final challenge which I call "All Mixed Up".  Use a non-alpha in your title and mix fonts to create interest.

Another angle so you can see the "ribbon" effect.  I took inspiration from my girl Jodi and created the cardboard star, painted it with some Memory Makers evergreen, then wrapped it up in floral wire and then pop dotted it for some fun dimension.

The buttons I used on here are from a recent find at Tuesday Morning.  I totally scored and some of the buttons just worked with the color scheme in this line perfectly!

I hope you are having a super scrappity weekend and thank you so much for stopping on over!

More Cardabilities Anyone?

I'm so excited I just wanted to share that I've been accepted to continue again on the Design Team for the next three months over at Cardabilities

It's been such a joy and I have had more fun creating with Karan's amazing sketches, I can't tell you how excited I am to be back for another term!  Here is a little peek at some of my creations from the first term:

Some of you may think "what's the big deal?".  To me, a previously self professed non-card maker...  this is a very big deal!  I've discovered that I really enjoy creating cards, almost as much as I enjoy scrapbooking.  Paper crafting is such an evolutionary hobby.  I love every.single.thing. about it.

I hope you had a fabulous day and thank you so much for stopping on by!!!

Cardabilities Sketch #5 Reveal!

It's time for another fabulous sketch from Cardabilities!  I just love the sketches that Karan does for us.  They always challenge me and push me to try out new things.  This sketch is no exception, it's a shaped card!  How fun is that?!!!

I used my May Card Kit from Life Preserver's for this one.  It's the Dear Lizzy line by American Crafts.  I've been waiting and waiting to break into this kit and this was just the opportunity!

Here's the sketch:
Here is how I used it:
Thanks so much for stopping on over and have a Super Scrappity Day!!!

ScrapFit Workout #22: Fans, Fans, Everywhere There are Fans!

“Fans, Fans, Everywhere There are Fans!"  is the title of the next workout over at Scrapfit!  For this workout, we wnat to see your fans/peeps/friends.  Create a project with 5-10 pictures in it.
Part of my scrappy New Year's resolutions was to finish my unfinished projects and use stash.  I started on this fun Halloween mini album back in the fall and it just needed a little more love to be "finished".   The album and papers are from Little Yellow Bicycle.

This challenge is perfect for those fun action photos, or to push you to complete a mini that is in process, whatever works for you!  I can't wait to see what you do!!!

Forever...

That's exactly how long I thought I might "save" the "Bella Bella" line from My Mind's Eye!  I just love it that much.  The entire thing is scrumptious and I could not for the life of me figure out how I would ever choose what paper to use.

Finally, after a heartfelt chat with one of my best scrappy friends, the revelation that if I didn't actually use it I couldn't really enjoy it came to light.  Enter my challenge for our weekend crop to my fellow scrappy gals at Life Preservers.  Here is what I created with one of our favorite wedding photos:
I used some Zva Creative flourishes on here and of course I had to use some Tim Holtz metal pieces.  I am so glad that I broke into my favorite line.  Now I can actually enjoy it on our wall instead of in a file folder!!!

Do you have something like this that you are "saving"?  I double dog scrappity dare you to break into it!

I sure hope you are having a super scrappity weekend!!  Thanks for stopping on over and spending a moment with me!

Button, Button, Hoo's Got The Button?

Have you heard?  Life Preserver's is having a crop this weekend!  Gather up your adhesive, sharpen your scissors and stop on over to check out the awesome inspiration that is over there!   The ladies there are the nicest gals on the planet!!!

One of my Make N' Take projects is this fun little decorated pint jar.  I could not resist doing something fun with this jar after we finished off the delicious relish that was in it.  I used the May Featured Life Preserver's kit.  Those Quite Contrary papers from My Mind's Eye were calling to me, specifically those adorable little owls!!!  Here is what I did:

So simple, but just a lot of fun!  I'm so very glad that my button stash has a much happier little home now!  One of my good friends said she would need a 5 gallon pickle jar to house all of her yummy buttons.  Now that I would love to see!!!

Thanks so much for popping on over!  Have a super scrappity Saturday and I will post another of my crop projects here tomorrow.  See you then!

Family Time!

Happy Sunday to you!  I thought I would take a quick moment to share with you my latest creation that I made with the May Featured kit from Life Preservers.

We had an absolute challenge getting these family photos done.  Both kids were running every which way, not really too interested in sitting in one place for more than a millisecond!  About 2 minutes into the adventure, the little baby poked Daddy in the eye so badly he could not see for about 10 minutes.  You get the idea I'm sure!  I'm so thankful that we hung in there and tried for a few more photos.  ***grin***

In the end it was a beautiful day and at least we managed to get one family photo.

I found the cutest border punch by Martha Stewart called Branches, and to me, it just worked with this line by Crate Paper.  The floral spray is of course, Prima!  I used some Maya Road Latte Metallic Mist on here too and the ruffled ribbon I found in the Life Preserver's store.

Thank you so much for stopping on by, have a super scrappity day!!!

Cardabilities Reveal!

I can not believe it is already June 1st!  We are in full swing for summer and it is so very exciting!!  What are you looking forward to this summer?  I can't wait for the 4th of July and for my older son to see some fireworks, I just know he will love them!

Here is the super fabulous sketch that we were given to work with by Cardabilities:
Here's what I did using more of the February Featured kit from Life Preserver's with Basic Grey's Sugar Rush line.  That kit has been so much fun!  I guess I am slightly inspired by the 4th of July coming up because I just realized that my project has a little Red, White and Blue in it!

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do for the center of this sketch, but later I decided to try and fussy cut that ribbon printed paper and see if I could do something with it.  I thought it made the perfect little heart balloon string!  I hope you like it too!  Of course I had to dig out my diamond stickles to bling up the heart a bit, and then I added a few Zva Creative pearls as my finishing touch.

Thanks so much for stopping on by!  Have yourself a fabulously scrap-happy day!!!

***Please do NOT forget to scroll on down one more for the ScrapFit reveal too!

ScrapFit Workout #21 Reveal!

Are you ready for the next workout over at ScrapFit?  This workout is all about Exercise Machines!  Use a machine, any type of machine, Sewing, Cricut, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, you name it!  Now I want to see what you will do!!!

'This Boy is Fun, Wild & Free' layout was created using a Pagemaps sketch by Becky Fleck:
Can you tell which machine(s) I used on this project?

I used my sewing machine and Crop-o-dile big bite.  I also used some circle punches to provide the relief areas on the photos.  Initially I had flowers in the circular spots, but I decided to switch it up a bit.  Next, I  used my favorite Basic Grey Rub-On tool for the rub-ons.  I just love that thing!  I'd like to say a special thank you to the fine folks over at My Mind's Eye for the yummy papers on this, 'Laundry Line' and the fun rub-on's, etc.  I won that line from one of their challenges and the papers and embellishments are just fabulous!

Oh and trust me, with this little guy in our lives, we don't have much of a need for any exercise machines... he is a total moving machine himself!
Thank you so much for stopping on by and have a super scrappity happy day!!!
