Sunday Musings

It's been a fun five weeks and lots of twists and turns as usual over at Life Preservers!  Today marks the end of my participation in the Scrap Bachelor, the Red Team was eliminated from the contest.  It was a lot of fun and to the remaining members of the Blue Team - best wishes, I think you may need it!! he he!!

Intrigued?  You should go on over and check it out.  Oh, but I must warn you, these gals get feisty and competitive when a contest is going on, so enjoy the feist-ivities!  It's all wonderful friendly fun!!!

I had the most amazing week!  I received my February kit and have just enjoyed every morsel of it!!  It is full of yummy Basic Grey Sugar Rush goodies!  I couldn't wait to work with it, here is my first creation, an easel card:

Stay tuned for more!  Thanks for popping by!!

Scrap Bachelor Update Time!

We are into week five of Scrap Bachelor and the pressure is really mounting this week!  The producers over at Life Preservers decided to split the participants into two teams, blue and red.  As such, each team needs to determine a point value that they are working toward as a goal from 1-30.  I am on the RED hot team!

There is a catch this week, one entire team will be eliminated!  That is correct, 7 or 8 ladies will be signing off this Sunday.  That being said, each team is determining their goal amount and their strategy.  Layouts count as 1 point, a pair of cards will count as 1 point.  All work must be newly created and never posted!

Here is a card that I created using the January project kit featuring the 7 Gypsies Venice line, along with the coordinating stamps.  I was extremely lucky and won the stamps from the 7 Gypsies blog!  I sent this over as my project submission to them.

I am still working on my album as well, so stay tuned for it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a super scrappity dappity day!!!

ScrapFit Workout Reveal

It's time for a new workout over at ScrapFit!  Are you ready for "The Power of One"?

This next challenge is all about creating a monochromatic layout, but there is a catch!  You may only select pink, red, white or black.  Since I have boys and seem to gravitate and scrap blues and browns a whole lot, I decided to push myself to a complete other extreme.

I decided to choose pink, something that I rarely do.  These papers are from DCWV, Luxury Stack.  They have a very pearly finish on them and are thick and substantial to work with.

Here is a close-up:

I'd love to see your beautiful take on "The Power of One" workout!

Some Latte Crop Creations

The January project kit from Life Preservers is full of the beautiful 7 Gypsies line "Venice".  It includes a bound index album that I am also working on.  I decided to take a break from the album and work on a few small projects during our "Latte Love" crop over the weekend.

The first layout is based upon a sketch provided by Pagemaps that Jodi used for a one hour challenge.  I could not participate in that challenge, but I loved the sketch and thought it would be fun to use it and see where it would take me.  Here is the result:

I thought it would be fun to use these papers to create a masculine birthday card for my brother.

A Whole Latte Fun!

Wow has this been an amazing crop weekend so far!  There are so many beautiful and inspirational projects going on over at Life Preservers that you really need to stop by and see for yourself.

** There is a 1 hour sketch challenge tomorrow at 1pm Central, hosted by Jodi! **

For this crop, I concentrated on cards.  That is actually ironic because I would not consider myself to be a "card maker".  Here are the rest of my creations for the crop.  These were done using the December Card Kit that featured Collage Press "Joyride" collection.  How fun are these papers?!

The first card is a challenge to use "no hearts" for your Valentine's card.

This Sweetheart card evolved because I am stamp challenged!  I did not have a sentiment for this card.  I remembered that I had this candy, so I used them.  I love how fun and whimsical this card turned out!

This last curvey flip/figure 8 card was inspired by a Marion Smith youtube tutorial that I found. Isn't it fun?!
Thanks so much for stopping on by!  Catch you over at Life Preserver's!!

ScrapFit Workout #13

Today is a super exciting day for me!  This is my first ever reveal for ScrapFit!  This month the sponsor is Tally Scrapper

This workout challenge is to create a bra card.  Please see the link below for the .pdf template to create this.  I think this is just the cutest little card to give your hubby/boyfriend for Valentines Day or for a friend to "show them you support them" or "thank them for their support"!

Lingerie Cards
Here is my version of this fun card using the My Mind's Eye Laundry paper.  I hand gathered the lace on this and included some pink embroidery floss stitching for fun.  The necklace charm was left over from another project.  I thought it was just the right amount of "gaudy" for this!  Ha!!

Here is Pinky's beautiful and inspirational design:
Here are Kelly's two creations:
Here is Mia's creation:
Here is Jodi's creation:
Here is Katie's creation:
