Treasured Reveal!

March has been such a fantastic month!  This month I have been honored to be a Guest Design Team member over at Treasured Scrapbooking.  Here are my March 15th reveals using the March kit full of Sassafrass Lass - Nerdy Bird and Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety lines.  Also included are some fun extras from Jenni Bowlin Studio.

This photo is of my oldest little guy who thinks it is hysterically fun to crawl into the dogs kennel and hide.  Usually he chooses this activity right before we are ready to leave for work in the morning.
  • The heart chipboard was painted with making memories acrylic paint, then I applied the scallop ribbon and a few fun buttons to embellish.
  • I used some magic mesh and embossing powder to further repeat the look of the kennel gate.
  • I used crackle accents on the "b" in Boy and on the star for a fun accent.
  • Stickles anyone?  The aqua paper actually has white swirls that I covered up with Waterfall Stickles.  I also used diamond on the centers of the flower circles.
Here are some cards that I created using the fun and bright colors from Nerdy Bird!  First is my favorite Kelly Panacci inspired purse card.  I think this template is the cutest (you can find it on her blog)!  I used my I-Top to make the brad for the flower closure.  Love that smiling little face in the center!!

Next is my peek-a-boo Get Well card with the ribbon flower in the window.  I just love this cute idea that they just had in Scrapbooks Etc. for the ribbon flower and had to try it out with my own unique spin of course!  I thought that glass piece made a wonderful floral stem!

Finally my very bright and cheerful nerdy bird "Hi" card.  Just something fun to cheer you up!

Thanks so much to Treasured Scrapbooking for the honor this month!  I am such a lucky girl!!  As always, thanks for stopping over to say hello!!

Scrapfit Workout #16 Reveal!

Can you say March Madness?  This next workout over at ScrapFIT is all about it!

The next workout is sponsored by Life Preserver's.  They very generously donated a super scrappy delicious prize of a March Kit for some very lucky scrappy gal!  Here is the fun recipe challenge that keeps the Final 4 in mind!  Intrigued?  Here you go:

* 4 Circles (Basketball biggest month/ the final 4)
* Multiple fonts (As all the teams have different names/logo’s)
* 2 pictures (Because it comes down to the final game between two fabulous teams!)
* Distressing (Like the way all the teams will feel when they get beat!)

Here is what I came up with using the Life Preserver's February featured kit:

Just for fun!

What a crazy week it's been!  Last Friday night I was out scrapping with my good friend Desiree.  We were having the best time and then slowly throughout the night, my voice start to fade.

By the end of the night, I had lost my voice completely!  To top it all off, I also had pink eye and a wicked cough.  Today marks one full week of laryngitis.  I feel tons better than I did, but I am still not 100%.

I did not get a lot done but I did manage to work on a few small projects.  This page started out as one idea and then completely morphed into something else.

I mixed up some Krafty paper from Paper Trunk as the base, then piled on some Pink Paislee Amber Road.  I did a little figure 8 action with my satin ribbon and sewing machine.  Let me tell you that was entertaining!!  Those little chipboard buttons with the round sentiment are from K & Co Wild Saffron.  It was fun to mix things up!  This is my sweet baby on his 2nd birthday picking out his pumpkin!  He loved it!!

Here is a card that I created for my Mom's birthday.  I used the March card sketch posted over at Scrapfit for this one using up some of my Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire stash.

I hope this finds you healthy and having a super fabulous weekend!!!

What a Rush!

The February Featured Kit from Life Preserver's has been calling to me a lot lately!  I can't seem to put it down, the colors are so beautiful in this Sugar Rush line from Basic Grey.  The periwinkel, oranges, reds and pinks just come alive!  I don't know about you, but it makes me long for Spring!

Here are some of the projects that I have created from this kit that just keeps on giving and giving....

This is a layout of my sweet baby boy's first birthday cake experience!  Included is the candle from the cupcake for fun.  He truly loved every morsel, as evidenced by his cute little oompa loompa face!  We were really worried that the food coloring would stain his face, thankfully it washed off well!

My scraps card experiment!  I had bits and pieces from a project that I thought I would use for fun and see what I could do.  For a completely random experiment, I really love this card!
One more easel card!  This one is a little gift for a someone who made my day, I hope she likes it!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a super scrappity weekend!!!

Reveal Day and a Prima Giveaway!

Yesterday was so full of excitement I forgot to include my March 1st reveal for Treasured Scrapbooking!  The kit has some very bright and cheerful springtime papers from Cosmo Cricket; Garden Variety, Sassafrass Lass; Nerdy Bird and Prima; Strawberry Kisses.  Sounds really fun and cheerful doesn't it?

Ready to see what I did with it?  I took one look at the lush greens and yellow in the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety papers and it reminded me of farming in the spring here in Minnesota.

I grew up on a farm in southwest Minnesota.  Our 2 year old has had a complete and total fascination with tractors and farming!  The photos below are from a tractor day at our church.  That was such a fun day when he was "driving" the big red tractor!  I guess it just goes to show you how strong genetics are and that indeed, farming really is in the blood.  Grandpa will be so very tickled!

I just 'had' to make a caterpillar with this paper!   Turns out, he fit just right on top of the Sassafrass rainbow.  I used Ranger's Glossy Accents for some texture and dimension, then added floral wire for antennae.  Voila!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by!

ScrapFit Reveal Day and a Guest Design Team Announcement!

Are you ready?  There is a lot going on in March!!  First of all, I am so excited to share with you that for the month of March I will be a Guest Designer over at Treasured Scrapbooking.  I have my first project reveal for them today in addition to the ScrapFit Challenge.

What is up for the next challenge from the FitGirls you ask?!  Wasn't the blog hop fun this last weekend?

This next workout is a little on the selfish side.  Wait, did I say that?  Yes, you guessed it, time for... an all about you page!  What does that mean?  Go on with your bad self and get your scrap on, tell your story and just scrap about what it's like to be your own unique you

The criteria is that you must include the title "A Day in the [my] Life".  I chose to use the February Featured kit from Life Preservers using Basic Grey Sugar Rush for this project.  I have to say that I have so enjoyed working with this kit!  The embellishments are amazing!

Journaling reads (because really, my life is not at all about only me! he he!!):

Snips and snails, some little boy wails
God’s holy grace
Diamonds and lace

Joyful home filled with laughter
Sweetest baby love
God shined his blessings down from above

Eyes big and blue
Action galore
Who could ask for anything more?

Angels and butterflies
A soft breeze on your face
Never doubt for a moment, this is your place!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a super scrap happy day!!!
